@LawyeRell Literally same. I was so mad once I got to reviewing this, because I thought indispensable meant that you cannot dispense it (ie., it cannot be used...) I got even more upset when I realized there is a line in Hamilton (which I am a big fan of) where Burr describes Hamilton as having made himself "indispensable," to Washington (which makes the necessary component a bit more clear; although the knowledge of the show is INDISPENSABLE for you to know that.)

So I’m in a similar boat. I’ve been studying for about 4 months, while working 2 jobs. My best and most recent PT score was a 154, which I think is okay without being great. I’ve found that the things that made a difference for me were relying on my Google Calendar heavily (so every weekend I look ahead at the coming and week and try to schedule out my study sessions), creating a plan of my own (which is built from the 7Sage curriculum), and like lots of people have said in the comments, giving myself some grace and being open to the possibility that the LSAT is at least interesting.

I’ve also created a study log on Google Sheets just to keep track of my weekly hours, my confidence levels, and patterns of study, in order to try and produce some data regarding what drills or how many hours a week will improve my score.

Also, take some time for yourself. I try to read a chapter of a book every day, and am making more of an active effort to work out daily. I also really value time with my friends and family, since that takes my mind off the LSAT.

Maybe these tips will work for you! I think the most important thing to mention about these tips however, is that they are built from past experience and other people’s tips, but include some of my own flair when they are put into practice.

Hi I have a quick question on Question 19. My issue with this question is that I selected answer choice D twice (both on the test and in BR). The 7 Sage explanation claims that D is "Not supported, because passage B does focus on gender." I can completely see that this is true, and on the 3rd go around, I selected E, since the second passage seems to show how looking at gender can be a useful lens through which to view politics and culture. My issue, however, arises from the notion that we do not know when the second passage was written. The phrase in answer choice D that bothers me is "much recent historical scholarship." How do we know (if we can in fact, know) that Passage B, let alone Passage A, was written recently? Also, if it WAS written recently (which we have no way of determining), how can we tell what defines recent? I am thinking that these questions surrounding a technicality could be helpful for someone trying to solve this question. I also do think that this says something about my approach to this question, since it appears I am doing POE rather than "hunting" for answers. Regardless, some clarity on when these passages were written would be helpful.

@LauraRizzler Well it's nice to know I am not alone in that. I guess we just have to keep on trying right? That seems to be a good way of pushing the score up (even if the results do not come immediately lol)

I do not like the explanation for why answer choice D is incorrect. I can see WHY E is correct, but the portion of the passage that 7sage highlighted is not in of itself indicative that the passage stated "The Color Field style involved experimentation more than Gilliam believed the art of his African American contemporaries did."

Lower PT Scores

I have noticed that the more I seem to study, the lower my PT score goes. My highest PT currently is a 154, which I simply do not think is good enough. I have been studying for about 5 months, so nothing too crazy. I do think I can get my score up and I am going to keep chipping away at this program, I am sure it is helping. My issue seems to be that I am taking steps back with more studying. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Maybe I am doing something wrong while studying. Hopefully with time this dip will turn into an upward trend, but it is awfully demoralizing. If anyone has a similar experience, please let me know!

My GPA is not great in my opinion (3.26) and I am scoring at a low point for the LSAT too (around 153 currently.) It is totally scary but I would really like to think that if you have a good enough LSAT score you can get into a school that reflects your educational capabilities. @TimothyNguyen made a great point in the comments too, about transferring once you gain admission to a school. I guess the question becomes how low your GPA is. If i recall correctly, there was a discussion post I was reading on here, it should be under most voted under the admissions tab, of someone with a 2.8 GPA gaining admission to Northwestern. Granted, their LSAT was rather high and they had great softs (military experience), but still, I think it goes to show that ANYTHING is possible.

I am confused. Isn't there a difference between being intelligent and displaying intelligence? Maybe this question is irrelevant because displaying intelligence is in the conclusion, and not the reasoning. I guess I did not pick this choice because I think there is a distinction between having intelligence and displaying intelligence. Maybe displaying intelligence means the computer is DISPLAYING the intelligence on the screen?

Regardless, this is a very cool question that it is leading to so many other questions.
