New Podcast Format

Hey all,

Quick heads up on where the podcast is going. If you've listened to last week's or this week's episode, you may have noticed a shift in our format.

The short version: we're covering the whole path now, not just the LSAT. Applications, scholarship negotiation, personal statements, picking a school, paying for it, what 1L is actually like, etc. We're planning to have multiple segments every episode highlighting different aspects of the journey. Although we're still feeling it out, I think our most consistent episode format will be: LSAT advice segment, LSAT journey, Admissions Q/A. We're also going to be featuring some longer form interviews with special guests in the LSAT, law school and legal arenas.

A few things I want from you.

First, what do you think of the new direction? Honest reactions welcome, including if you preferred the old LSAT-centric format. Any suggestions are welcome!

Second, tell me what to cover. What's the question you can't get a real answer to? What do you wish someone would just sit down and explain?

And if you've got a specific question you want answered on air, send that too. We'll pull from the thread for future episodes.

Reply here or DM me.

Alex

Love this new format, I want to hear about everything! I think it would be really beneficial for there to be a filter by tag option in the blog for the podcast. That way, if people just want to listen to something about admissions when they log on, or just LSAT, etc., they can easily find it without scrolling through all the episodes.

Hi Alex, I have found the podcast so helpful in my studying and staying motivated overall. Currently I’m in major LSAT mode for June so I’m going back to short cut episodes and trying not to focus too much on admissions stuff until after. That being said, I really enjoy hearing in the interview how and why people started to study, what they liked about studying and what their ‘unlock’ or was and often find it more helpful than isolated short cut questions about score plateau’s to have the whole narrative.

Question submission: Any tips for knowing when to move on when you are stuck on a question or how to assess how long it will take? Specifically for RC it can feel high stakes to move on to a new passage.

Thanks for all the wisdom and advice.

@MikaelaS Good to know! The plan is to structure it so that the LSAT content/LSAT interviews come first so that you'll still have plenty of applicable material to listen to and then can end it if you're not interested in the admissions stuff yet. We will add that question to the queue. Thanks!

Hi Alex! First of all, huge fan of the pod. I think I've listened to every episode to date!

Secondly, although the new format may be less applicable to me (applying to only Canadian schools), I think it will be useful for listeners to hear more about the law school journey in general. There is already a ton of LSAT content available, so the way I see it, the new content will be an awesome expansion.

Looking forward to listening along. Thank you very much as always!!
