Self-study
How are you guys able to stay focused through reading the passages, sometimes my attention dims by the end of the passage and either I reread 20 times or I just pick an answer just to pick one.
My delimma is I read half way through the passage, my eyes "look" at the remaining and by the time I get to the questions I skim through them and just kinda pick one without really knowing why, just vibes.
Its not like I'm not interested, I want to be able to answer the damn question, idk why I do this!
Does anyone else have this? If so, what has helped you?

Reading drills help me where I just read questions I've already answered just to translate them and I did that at least 25 times. I also deleted my IG app (not the account) to avoid scrolling to keep my attention spam longer... After I did this I've stayed engaged enough to read the whole thing.
@DaniCali4nia Thank you!! Ill have to try that, I've seen people recommend to put your phone/ any other electronic that your not actively working on not in your view to avoid that distraction, I think a combination of putting my phone elsewhere and deleting socials so it cant even be an option is a good idea!
I have this problem too!! Highlighting what seems important (like stated by asherketchum) helps me. I have also removed all social media from my devices, all games, any distractions that seem to occur that limit my retention and attention span.
Instead, I now force my hobbies to be reading, drawing, knitting, something active too. I used to read a lot and got out of the habit, and reading will help retention and skill. As well as keeping your body moving a little, stretching, light walks. All help!! Though this isn't an immediate fix, it is gradual yet rewarding :) & I'm still working on it!
@CecileJudy Thank you!! Ill definitely keep this in mind :))
Some people highlight, others swear against it - I find highlighting helps me stay engaged with the passage so that my mind doesn't glaze over like you described. I highlight definitions, author's perspective, key arguments - not to reference them later, just to make sure I'm actively engaging with the passage. Sometimes time management is a struggle when I'm highlighting, though, so I've been trying to reduce the amount of time I'm spending on each passage. Worth giving a shot and seeing if it helps you stay engaged, since it's been great for me.
@asherketchum I've also found highlighting more engaging, I think it helps not let your eyes get "bored." In continuing to do that will make you eventually do it out of habit with your eyes too, I appreciate the advice, thank you very much!
