I've been using the new format on my large monitors and have been slightly minimizing my screen so it doesn't take up my full screen and is easier and faster to naviagte. @J.Y.Ping Do you know what the screens in the testing centre look like? Will the test be "full screen"? Essentially, what aspect ratio should we practice on?
@Fizzypop I don't but we're matching our tester behavior to be the same as LawHub's on the principle that what you're using here should match as closely to what you'll be using on test day as possible.
Okay so I had too come back here to support this request.. and allow me some visual aids:
This is what I have to look at using my 32" widescreen monitor.. it requires a lot of head turning/eye shifting which can be exhausting and not efficient. Coming from someone who did supply chain work with multiple large screens, I am already fatigued.
Now look at the same page after I have answered the question, it goes back to the old format.
Now we are not demanding the old version, or do away with the new LSAT version..
Notice how the second example is anchored to the middle of the page, with a large border buffering the content so it all remains in compact and easily viewable.
To achieve anything close to the second example I now have to resize my web browser. This is a very poor fix since it leaves the edges of my screen exposed to whatever is there. Also since I use a QD-OLED monitor I do not like keeping still images for long periods due to the risk of burn in on the screen.
Ideally when using 7Sage I would like to have my web browser in full screen mode for my full immersion so that I can remove the distractions from the tool bar, avoid unintentionally clock watching, and the impulse to click onto something else.
Since the update I can no longer do that. Using my PC with the 32" monitor feels a lot less comfortable now. I've now come to prefer using the iPad app.
The site looks great still and the update is mostly not noticeable on my laptop, but on the bigger screen it is not comfortable to use without borders in place to bring all the text closer together and in center.
You could resize the browser window.
Are you asking for a way to add a border so it doesn’t run from edge to edge?
I agree with you. But the new format is the actual format that LSAC will be administering the LSAT on.
@J.Y.Ping well, just let us switch between it with a note "actual format" vs "prior 7sage format" (or whatever you want to call it)
@J.Y.Ping I second @SirHarvey. I know the new layout is supposed to match the new LSAC layout they're rolling out for August, but it just feels more clustered and difficult to navigate.
I'd rather practice on the old layout to understand the material, and then start adapting to the new layout. Instead I have to try and grasp the material in an unfamiliar layout.
@CMas yeah i agree. my focus rn is content and the new format is extremely distracting. id rather practice on the old format. i dont know why they got rid of the option to choose between the two. definitely a massive downgrade. it's messing my whole rhythm up rn.
