Hello! Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, so it is completely normal to be much stronger in one question type than another.

In my opinion, Flaw, Strengthen, and Weaken questions are all on the same track. Strengthen and Weaken just require one step further; you have to identify the underlying flaw, and then bring in a new piece of evidence to either patch that hole (Strengthen) or rip it wide open (Weaken).

Because of this, a strategy for Strengthen/Weaken questions can be to treat them exactly like Flaw questions at first. Identify the problem in the argument, and then scan the answer choices for the one that actively interacts with that specific problem. Best of luck!

Flaw type are questions you can anticipate and point at a definite answer, quickly find it, and move on with confidence.

Weaken/strengthen questions fall upon the spectrum of support. For those type questions you often have to weigh the options to find the one that MOST strengthens or MOST weakens.

For MOST strengthen/weaken questions you will need to do PoE (process of elimination).

My problem was that I was not reading all the AC, or I would fall in love with an answer, or I wasn’t understanding the argument right.. also that peasky EXCEPT in question stem always puts my brain in the blender.

I would recommend reviewing the lesson on spectrum of support for a nice visual explanation.
