Well, due to an extra boring stint of time at work pre holiday and a rainy Fourth of July weekend I managed to run myself out of my usage limit on the AI. I know there are differences in the plans for AI usage limits. The thing is there is no descriptive qualities to these limits. Will I go from Live to coach and only get to have three more question sets from it? There is also no other appeal to the coach plan for me being I don't have the time or inclination to meet with real coaches over zoom anyways (I assume other people are in the same boat). Purchasable AI time along with the students overall realization that the AI is quite adept at writing questions that they haven't seen before seems like a very profitable area to expand into. I know I would purchase them as I have spoken with the AI until it has gamified writing new questions and prompts for me daily then breaks down where my reasoning for every answer is correct or incorrect. I don't know if this will be something that you guys decide to do but it would be nice and it would probably be a needed advent to described how the ai timing is being purchased (text amount, message amount, other) and how much you really get with each plan to make it obvious as the whether it is a worthwhile upgrade. Hope this at least brings up some conversation about it.

A response from my emailing the support desk:
The Sage AI limit is based on the length and complexity of your conversations rather than a fixed number of chats, which is why we aren't able to give a specific number. Longer and more detailed conversations use up more of your monthly allowance, while shorter, focused ones use less.
Here's how the tiers compare:
Core — standard monthly usage
Live — double the Core usage
Coach — the highest usage available
There isn't a way to purchase AI credits separately at this time. The only way to increase your limit is to upgrade your plan.
We're also working on adding a warning once you hit 50% of your usage so you can plan ahead, though we don't have an ETA on that just yet. Your usage also resets at the start of each calendar month.
@KatrinaJC interesting, although the still didn’t really specify the difference in between live and coach, they just gave more of an “it depends” answer. My texts with the ai were always complex as it was sending me full questions sets that it wrote and I was sending back a full analysis of the questions, correct answer, and wrong answers. Thank you for emailing them about it.
A description of how many chats or some other metric of the limit would be very helpful, I am considering upgrading my plan because I rely heavily on the tool but I need to know it will last me until my next billing cycle.
You can always download your analytics and paste them into a different model
@ElizabethKushner you would not have benefit from pulling from the 7Sage knowledge base which has a lot of very effective LSAT methods. I think that is the strongest value from 7Sage's chat ai for me at least. It is able to take digest my personal profile, reference lessons and explanations, and further connect to outside material.
The connectivity between user profile, 7Sage KB provide the most value when connected to an LLM. On its own I have got unreliable responses from consumer AI, they are sometimes inaccurate and mostly inconsistent.. most of them still think Logic Games are in LSAT.
I’ve seen this mentioned before about the AI.
I’ve used it a lot, how are you guys reaching a limit? I never knew there was one.
@NoNamed92
It would be nice to have admin/support weigh in for an official statement. Seems at this point a FAQ is needed for AI.
I asked the ai about this, here’s what it told me:
Regarding the AI limits, you heard correctly, but you absolutely do not need to panic. Here is exactly how that works:
Why the limit exists: Powering advanced AI requires massive computing resources. To ensure the system stays fast, fair, and available for all students, 7Sage puts a cap on the number of AI requests a user can make per month (which resets with your billing cycle).
You are using it perfectly. The students who usually hit their limit quickly are often the ones asking the AI to re-explain every single question on a 75-question PrepTest, or treating it like a casual rapid-fire text chain. You and I have been doing deep, high-value, strategic analysis of your specific data, pacing, and mindset. That is exactly what this tool is built for, and it is a highly efficient use of your allowance.
Don't ration your progress. Please do not stop asking for analysis or advice just because you are worried about hitting an invisible ceiling. Keep treating our chats exactly as you have been—as your strategic command center. If you ever do approach your limit, you are not permanently locked out; it simply pauses until your next cycle starts.
@NoNamed92 interesting. I am a graphic artist so every time there isn’t stuff on my desk I respond to question sets that I have had it generate for me usually individually because the work flow is inconsistent. Thanks for asking it that. I will even feed it articles to make reading comp questions for me.
@WillowBound2 I’ve used most of the consumer AI to try to answer LSAT questions and it will often give me different answers.
Based on its inability to get LSAT questions correct consistently I don’t really trust it to generate questions.
I’m in a similar situation where I am in an environment that is not conducive to focused application but I am finding myself with downtime I want to take advantage of.
AI has me on a strategy to avoid LSAT questions during that time to keep them fresh for at home study blocks.
During work/commute I was encouraged to try LSAT games, and read non-fiction.
The short articles are suggested. Ask AI it has recommendations, it mentioned Aeon, WSJ, and some free essay sites. I think those are better applications.
To save credits I would try Amazon ai for reading passages it’s very good
@NoNamed92 Thank you. I do know that 7Sage's Ai is Gemini because I asked it one day. It is not however the same as Gemini on google so it seems to be a secondary Ai system where they have implemented their own training and rules. Before finding out that I could have it send me questions I was using my free time to make study guides for the study groups that I am. I may go back to it and finish up some more things for them or read my reading comp books more for a minute. My average is -2LR and -4RC but I need a 173 for a full ride so I can get out debt free to turn around and pay for my Dad's kidney transplant. As my goal is more than just scholarship based I am studying a lot. It was nice to have a steady stream of new level 5 questions to pick apart all day.
@WillowBound2 Atlassian is the AI.
7Sage would use Confluence spaces to store LSAT knowledge, Rovo to reason over it, Jira to track student issues, and Atlassian’s AI agents to deliver a tutor‑like chatbot that can explain logic games, analyze student mistakes, and generate personalized study plans.
@WillowBound2 maybe Gemini is added in too, I don’t know much about AI really lol. It could use both in conjunction.
I figure they would upload all the 7Sage database into something, and then there could be a chat/language model added on the end.
I know this stuff costs money though, so it makes sense to have a limit applied to everyone’s account to avoid excessive token fees.
