Studying Fatigue

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has any advice for staying focused while drilling and studying. I find that I get mentally and physically tired (like my eyes literally want to shut lol) much faster when I’m studying for the LSAT than I do during other activities, and it makes it hard to stay engaged for long periods of time.

Has anyone found strategies that helped improve their focus or build their study stamina over time? Whether it’s changes to your study routine, break schedules, or anything else that worked for you, I’d really appreciate hearing what helped. Thank you!

I feel this! Especially with ADHD, this happens a lot. I try to set myself up the best I can at my desk. Having a clean organized area really helps me go into study mode. Then I try to be really dramatic with everything I read. A 7Sage intructor (I believe Bailey) said to read everything like it was hot gossip and drama. Sounds silly, but helps you stay engaged. I also sometimes feel chewing gum, or having a jolly rancher or something helps me stay focued. I also force myself to take breaks. When I feel my eyes getting heavy, I walk around, move a little, and that helps. A lot of natural lighting is helpful too. Small adjustments to your environment can make a big change, but be patient and slow with yourself. It takes time to be focused on an exam like this.

build overtime slowly. i don't think you should ever study for more than 2-3 hours at a time, but really work up to that. on the LSAT itself, you'll spend less than 3 hours working. your goal is to build foundations and master them over time. don't ever do too much in one day

@EliBerkley agreed. Past week did like 5 hours a day and got terrible burnout. Overtime is the move.
