I'm hoping for a 163+ in October but I feel a little defeated right now. At least I know I can get the questions right lol. Any tips to start closing this gap? My last 3 PTs have been in this score range but my BR score keeps going up.
what has been really helping me get my drill scores up is have a hard rule to never look at the answer choices until I can understand the stim enough guess the answer or flaw. gonna see today if it'll help me on an LR section
@SeanStrauss I hope it went well! I'm going to try focusing on that this week. I wonder if my timing issue is due to a lack of predictions. I spend a lot of time in the ACs.
@fssilver yeah it's honestly made my score jump like 20 points i'm not even joking. before i was letting the answer choices do the thinking for me and it caused me to second guess and talk myself out of the right answer
wait im literally in the same boat as you and had these exact same number happen to me too 😢 but that just means we have the foundational logic and understanding somewhere in our minds. Is this untimed? (if no, then maybe try doing untimed and covering the timer since that gives me a lot of pressure)
also, spending a lot of time on review (like snail pace) helps me personally as I try to understand why I chose the wrong AC in the first place. I like to talk through the stimulus and all the ACs out loud to my cat as if I'm teaching him and it makes me paraphrase and deconstruct the argument in like toddler terms! Good luck and you totally got this!!
(maybe something that might help is to drill the question types you get the most wrong on)
@y00nislee Glad to know I’m not alone but it’s a frustrating place to be! I’m trying to balance timed and untimed practice. I do untimed drills and timed full sections/PTS. My blind review will take me 3-4 hours after my timed pass for full PTs. During BR, I’m trying to focus on breaking down every part of each question and each AC. I’ve been using the notes feature and will take detailed notes for each flagged question. Then, after submitting, I’ll review those questions to see if there’s further action I need to take.
Speed and stamina feel like my enemy right now. My timed single sections during the week have significantly better performance than my weekend PT. And my untimed drills have been improving, specifically in RC (enemies to lovers path please). I like the idea of covering the timer for untimed work. Sometimes I catch myself glancing at the clock and doing mental math of how long I’ve taken, how long I should take, the full overthinking spiral. I’m going to try that out this week, thank you!
Good luck to you too! The raw score is frustrating but the BR score is promising. We’ve got this :)

Here's a general video I made on the subject. Happy to answer any follow-up questions you have.
