Hello, I am registered for September and am in search of a permanent tutor who would be available to meet more than once a week and provide intensive instruction between now and then. I am in need of a 175+, preferably without having to retake. I am already a few months of intensive study into this process and have either drilled or tested just about every question there is and have worked with other tutors in the past.

For background information, my diagnostic starting level was around ~160 and since then I have not seen the level of improvement I would like. My most recent practice tests were a 169 with a 174 BR and a 173 with a 180 BR (PT 156 and 159). I have been regressing since the 173, and am frequently getting around -4 to -6 on timed practice sections. I have a list of specific recurring problem areas that I would like to work on rather than starting from scratch. I don’t work that well with generalized lessons showing formulaic solutions to conditional reasoning, etc. , I would rather spend most of our sessions drilling actual missed questions in my identified problem areas and getting tips for strategies to approach these questions while working with them hands on.

If this sounds like it aligns with your teaching style or is something you could accommodate, please contact me 🙏. I am very willing to negotiate budget with anyone who feels confident they can get me to 174/175 by September. Tutor who has taken the test recently and scored 175+ preferred.

    Hi MiaGray!

If you’re still looking for a tutor, I offer one-on-one sessions along with a free consultation where we can go over your current score and goals. I’ve helped multiple students reach 180 and many others break into the 170s and I’d love to help you get there too.

You can book a free consultation using this link: https://calendar.app.google/jP9AKerjCTbprTCB8

More details about my approach are here if you want to check it out: https://www.milehighlsatprep.com/.

    Hi Mia,

I'll tell you exactly what I can do for you and you can decide if it might be a good match for what you are looking for.

I can definitely work through your missed questions with you, highlighting exactly why your answer choice(s) is wrong and why the correct one is in fact correct. This will usually require tracking through the reasoning, whether it’s causal or conditional or otherwise. Sometimes this will require pretty deep dives into the reasoning process. Sometimes the analysis focuses more on the specific facts of that question and sometimes it focuses more on the reasoning tenets themselves. There may be some foundational/remedial issues that arise and need to be addressed as well. Obviously, a near-perfect performance on the LSAT requires precision and consistency at the highest level, and this extends to not only high-level reasoning skills, but also to basic reading, vocabulary and mental discipline skill.

Honestly, I don’t venture into whether I have confidence in getting you to any particular score- way too many variables that I don’t control for me to do that. And it’s been years since I’ve taken the LSAT myself. But I can tell you that for the past 15+ years, I’ve spent hours every day working with students to understand how think through these questions, dissecting the skills and movements needed to do so, and imparting that information to the student in a personalized way so every student can understand and apply it.

Would be happy to discuss further if you are interested, just dm me…and best of luck either way!

    Scott
