Hey everybody!!!!!
Thought I’d post here in case anyone is in the same position I was and needs motivation. I’d been scoring consistently in the 158 ish range since I started studying. A week before the August test, I scored 165 and then a 152 (I actually posted on here about it). I was afraid the 165 was a fluke and I was somehow doing worse. Plus, everyone says you do worse on the actual test.
I just got my scores back… 166!!!!!!!!! Not as stellar as a lot of amazing people in the discussion, but good nonetheless. Don’t freak yourself out before the exam convinced you’re destined to do worse. You got this, there’s an end in sight. And 7sage is AMAZING!!! Go to the live classes if you haven’t, those helped me jump out of 158 purgatory.
Edit: In case anyone was wondering/ is in a similar boat, my diagnostic was 147 and I started studying May of this year!

Congratulation!!! You actually motivated me to not give up. I have the same diagnostic as you and i am currently in a 158 jail. My goal is a 166 and i take the lsat in october and im scared i wont be able to get out of the 158 jail.
@AlexaN OMG THIS MADE MY DAY!!! You can absolutely do it!!!! I made most of my progress in the month before the test. You got this I believe in you twin!!!
@mia0655 Congrats!!! Do you have any tips in how to get out of the high 150s? I'm in your score range when studying but then got a disappointing August test score. What was your studying like? I think I struggle with what to focus on leading up to the month before the exam! How did you target your weaknesses? Thanks in advance!!
@Isabella! Thank you!! I definitely changed a lot in the last month I was studying. I hope this makes sense and helps you.
I shifted from fundamentals, to a general model, then to semi targeted study. For me, I found my weaknesses via blind review then reading the explanations for the answers I picked and for the correct ones. After that, I went to the live classes on here for the areas I struggled with and did questions live with tutors. It gave me some skills I applied to my PTs. If I had a question that wasn’t covered/ didn’t have a session, I went to Kevin’s LSAT mailbox or asked the instructors for their emails to ask directly. The instructors are also a great way to help find your weaknesses if you send them your wrong answers and explanations. They're here to help you!
I think my biggest weakness so far (not sure if this applies to you, ignore me if it doesn't) was focus, anxiety, and overthinking two answers. I ended up applying a more relaxed study model after noticing my stress-induced patterns. Most of the time when I was listening to the live sessions, I would doodle or play a game to reduce excessive stress. It allowed me to retain the info better and I saw my answers improve. A lot of the test is mental! I think that’s why I had my lowest score right before taking the LSAT.
Overall, remember that even if the numbers don’t show it, you’re learning from this experience one way or another! You got this in the bag!! Happy to answer anything else or explain further if it doesn’t make sense lol. GO KICK LSAT BUTT!!!!
Congratulations!!! 🎉
