Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to receive fee waivers, but schools have been deadnaming and misgendering me like crazy. Some will even use my preferred name but still misgender me, which I find a bit funny.

I get that it’s likely automated systems screwing things up, but geez.

    Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh.

What's happening here is that schools are getting info from LSAC's candidate referral service (CRS). The info you put into there is then searchable by schools. If you have a typo ("I am ruing the day when I typoed my first name....") or information that gets updated (it happens a lot with folks who get married/divorced and then apply), it can lead to a lot of wonkiness. I can certainly understand how trans folks feel and I'm very sorry for it!

So if you haven't done so yet, you may want to check out your LSAC profile and just make sure that info is up to date. Sometimes CRS is drawing from old information that was relevant when you first entered it several years ago, but is no longer relevant today.
