Looking for some advice from anyone who may have experienced something similar. I’m currently signed up to take the September (12th) and October LSATs (have taken it twice previously). I took the August LSAT and had been going through a bit of a slump at the time and ended up getting the same score as the first time I took the test. The slump lasted a few weeks, and has only just started to turn around in the last 1.5 weeks. In that timespan, I’ve taken my two highest scoring PTs (8 points higher than August score).
My question: I had resigned myself to most likely not taking the September LSAT as I wasn’t yet at my goal score and wanted to build consistency and confidence to get there before taking it again in October and to break the slump. But now that I’ve had my two highest scoring tests that have been around my goal score in the past five days, I’m reconsidering. Do I ride the momentum this week and hope it continues, or do I stick with the plan to get more consistent with these scores before October to prove it’s not a fluke? Any advice appreciated!

I think you should take that test and keep studying as you would for the October exam. Worst comes to worst, you are still signed up for October and you still studied during the month. Not much opportunity cost imo- you got this
@PKaur thank you for your advice!! Do you think it would potentially affect how admissions counselors view me if I’m taking the test 4-5 times?
@Dagny Honestly no, I believe it is honorable from an admissions side to see that you were determined to get the score that you wanted and did not give up.
@Dagny Taking it a bunch of times is a very minor issue from what I have heard. Your highest score is what affects a school's medians so they really only care about your best score
thank you both!!
I'm in a similar boat. My mindset is that two more chances to get the score I want is better than one! UNLESS you will be unmotivated in that weird stretch between getting back the September score and prepping for the October test. That happened to me with the August test so I'm going to be ready for it this time. Best of luck!
If you're testing well and your confidence is up, that's a pretty good place to be
