😖 Frustrated

Urgent help! Please counsel me

Technical issues during today's LSAT (Sept 11, RC-LR-LR-LR order) — what would you do?

Took the Sept 11 LSAT remotely today, section order RC, LR, LR, LR. Start was delayed by Prometric issues, then about 27 minutes into RC I got hit with a random security check that killed my focus. With around 10 minutes left to review, I found 2 answers weren't registering and I couldn't fix them. Proctor took a few minutes to respond, sent me to a support page that didn't work, phone support was just a bot, and by the time I reconnected the system skipped me straight into my break instead of letting me go back and fix those two questions.

Called LSAC during the break and they said I could cancel and try to get approved to retest Sept 22, October, or November. I ended up finishing the test since I'd prepped specifically for this date. Honestly felt confident on the LR sections but not RC.

This is also my 5th time taking it, so I don't know if they'll even let me sign up for November unless they grant me an exemption.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? Trying to decide between pushing for a test-taking-limit exemption to add an extra date, filing a complaint and hoping for a retest, or just leaving it as is. Any insight appreciated.

I'm confident that if an exemption is needed to sign up for October or November they'd grant it (assuming you report the complaint and don't choose to keep your September score). It's also possible that through filing a complaint and choosing a free October or November signup rather than the September retest, you won't need an exemption because the September one wouldn't count due to technical error. I'd ask them about this to be sure. But ultimately, I wouldn't worry about max takes as an important issue here, because they will try to make things right due to technical error (unless you want to keep your September score and also take the test again).

What matters more is whether you think what occurred affected you enough to decrease your score. It sounds like you're concerned that it did. I'd lean toward trying to get a Sept 22 retest if that works for your schedule. This gives them time to fix glitches that occurred on this take. (Let's hope, at least...)

@Kevin_Lin thank you so much for the response! Greatly appreciate the insight and help. I think I’ll follow your recommendation and take the 22nd retake

Read the post I made yesterday. I had similar tech problems. And someone just PMed me that they also could not reset the answer choices to change their answer.
