I entered all my information. I reviewed my application twice. And only now, when beginning a new application did I notice I accidentally put my college start month as September when it was actually August. Is this going to mess up my chances? Do I email admissions to try and correct my mistake?

This is not worth worrying about
I don't think it's worth emailing. I doubt they will even notice. I think Adcoms are mostly just interested in seeing if you started in the fall, spring, or summer term -- not the specific month.
Speaking from the admissions standpoint, this is the minorest of minor details. It won't affect your chances for admission at all.
Moving forward:
Correct this on future apps.
If you happen to be admitted to a school that got that slightly wrong information AND you choose to enroll at that school, ask them if they would like amended information just to be sure that this documentation matches what you'll present to the bar in a few years.
But back to the top - don't even worry about it!
No, your transcripts have all the data they need on when you started college. Don't write them unless its something big - like maybe if you forgot to mention a graduate degree, or wrote Harvard on your resume when you meant Howard. Stuff like that.
