I remember this was once addressed on the 7Sage podcast, but I do not remember the answer or episode. In writing a personal statement, how do you decide whether it's appropriate to share a diagnosis if it's relevant to your story? I know I could be general and just say neurodivergent, or I could be specific, or I could completely not mention it at all.

Some stories might rely on a more specific diagnosis to make sense, whereas others can be told without. Are you worried about the potential stigma behind a diagnosis? To be perfectly transparent, I also think some diagnoses are more stigmatized than others. I don't know if there's a blanket answer for your question

Since we're talking about a personal statement, the key is providing enough information for me to understand the eventual payoff. For your PS, that's to explain why you want to go to law school and be a lawyer. So if it's important to that "Why Law" point to offer detailed information regarding neurodivergency, it's ok to bring it in. But if it's not connected to your "Why Law" (for example, a personal statement all about wanting to be a tax lawyer) then you really don't need to go into matters too deeply and/or at all.
