Hey all. Just got my October LSAT back and got a 176, a 2 point bump from my first score! I'm pumped but still considering whether I should take the November test anyways. I'm already registered, and my PT scores were around 178-180 going into the October test, so I do think it's very possible that my score would improve. Would that materially change my odds at top-5 schools? Would a retake hurt?

This is not to fish at all. I don't have any great advisors on law school strategy / odds and I'm not sure how to approach this situation.

Thanks all!

Honestly I dont think its worth retaking, thats already a great score and to be honest it might make more sense to just finalize applicaitons.

On the September score release podcast, someone asked the same question. 176 is apparently above all schools medians, so you don’t need to retake it! Rest and enjoy yourself.

Other people have already said it but just saying from the admissions perspective- there is no benefit to retaking on a 176 because you’ve guaranteed that you’ll be at/above every school’s median for this year. Just turn your energy towards submitting this apps!

strong score and gpa, retaking it will not necessarily hurt , but I dont think your odds are going to be significantly impacted given your current stats already
