Hey all. I've seen some guidance online (including on here) that says writing a Why NYU essay carries little benefit. Is that true? If so, would you all recommend only submitting a personal statement? I don't have a statement of perspective I think is essential to my narrative. But there's something that feels intuitively wrong about applying to a school with only a personal statement...
Thanks!
I've found that I typically do worse on the real test as compared to my PTs, but everyone is different... My main piece of advice is to focus on a goal interval rather than score. It's unrealistic to go into test day thinking that your PTs or drills guarantee/indicate a certain score. There's a level of variance you just can't control. Instead, prepare until you feel like you can have an off day and still score above your target.
Hey all. Just got my October LSAT back and got a 176, a 2 point bump from my first score! I'm pumped but still considering whether I should take the November test anyways. I'm already registered, and my PT scores were around 178-180 going into the October test, so I do think it's very possible that my score would improve. Would that materially change my odds at top-5 schools? Would a retake hurt?
This is not to fish at all. I don't have any great advisors on law school strategy / odds and I'm not sure how to approach this situation.
Thanks all!
@JacobBaska Thank you! For someone not in love with their SOP, do you recommend not submitting an addenda at all? Or finding a different essay to include?
