Hi everyone! I'm Ezra, and I scored a 180 on the September LSAT.
I tutored economics in college, and have been tutoring the LSAT since I took the exam. I love teaching the LSAT and I think the exam can be a fun and engaging challenge with the right approach. I firmly believe that with a strong foundation, good study habits, and proper dedication, most people can reach their goal scores.
A question I get a ton while tutoring is how to transfer accuracy and success in blind review over to timed performance. I think there are a few key variables in that process that I try to highlight: finding lessons in our blind reviewing, deliberate thinking under time, having a procedural approach to both the test as a whole and different question types, and checking in with ourselves regarding stamina and focus. Combining these attributes with intention helps us rely less on intuition or "vibes," keep a quick rhythm, and stay alert when we need to be. Here are some quick practical tips:
Be aware of when and how strategies can help us. For example, if you pre-phrased an answer choice and it ends up not being there, switch to PoE rather than choosing an AC that looks the most like what you were expecting. If pre-phrasing is not saving us time or protecting us from traps, it might be doing the opposite.
When you feel yourself straying from your process, pause and take a deep breath. This alone can help you recenter and gain control.
When you are blind reviewing, ask "what could I have done differently to have had a better chance at getting this question right?" This might mean being more comfortable with some sort of conditional logic, or it might mean not skimming over answer choices. These lessons are exactly why we do BR, and it is important to emphasize them and then drill similar questions to apply and ingrain what we learn.
If you'd like to work together to build these skills and tailor approaches to specific question types, I am more than happy to help.
How I work:
We start by assessing your performance and how you are studying, to pin down where you could improve. This is a process of targeting gaps and strengths in your understanding, study methods, and execution.
We will work on tailoring our sessions so that they work best for you. Everyone learns best differently, and we will spend time making sure that your study time is spent optimally and efficiently.
I am offering 1-on-1 sessions. I prefer 90-minute sessions, but can do 60-minutes as well if you have less time.
Rates:
I am currently pricing my 60-minute sessions at $60 and 90-minute sessions at $85. I am also happy to offer a fee waiver discount, if requested.
