this is funny. People use these concessions all the time in discussion almost making it clear they are trying to discount your perspective. I just think its great to learn more about this sort of context

as i understand it table setting introduces the topic for us and other peoples position will introduce, well, other peoples positions in order for the author to provide their conclusion

It feels like on question one "The teeth of some mammals show “growth rings”" could be the conclusion. Using just identifying method 1 (what does the author want me to believe) it feels like the author wants me to believe "The teeth of some mammals show “growth rings”". With the pigs in the trash pit revealing the bands as the premise.

I suppose using the other indicator methods you can eliminate this one as having an argument.

the stronger the argument the less guessing or assuming we need to do to support the argument
