Going from "no special magic" to "flawed mechanism" is a huge jump. I initially interpreted "no special magic" as "inadequate". But just because something isn't good enough means it's flawed?

I was way too focused on reasoning structure here. I picked D because it also had a conditional even though I was able to understand that a flaw that was present was an appeal to authority with irrelevant expertise. I don't understand why I wouldn't also focus on reasoning structure here. Also what is the difference between reasoning structure and reasoning pattern?

@corykopicki143 I feel like the same "strengthen by blocking an alternative hypothesis" could also be used to rationalize AC C as the right answer as well.

I don't understand what to attack here. I saw the correlation to causation fallacy. I saw the doubt answer choice B introduced but why would I attack the integrity of the correlative relationship instead of use it as a weapon (Answer choice D) ?
