The five star questions about art often go against artistic common sense. It's unfair to people like myself who work in art. Before you begin the test, it says the questions are based upon common sense. Not always apparently. Being an artist is resisting social pressure. This has been true throughout history, whether the public knew it or not. My intuition tells me it is more likely he was a subject of the painting than he was to surrender to any social pressure, and obviously many people here think similarly. Please have people who have studied art enough design these questions LSAC! I'd be interested in hearing whether those here with Econ backgrounds are similarly frustrated by some of the harder Econ questions.

@nickjackman123705 Agreed. I always try to understand the arguments well, even when I get them right. But it's taking me a while to make a lot of sense of this.

I answered this question correctly by building a mental model that puts genetic mutations on the same level as traits. I imagined there are effects of traits and effects of genetic mutations, and if the former's negative force is at least great enough to cancel the positive force of the latter, then it is not favored. Seems to me a lot of people imagine traits are an effect of the genetic mutation. It could be; I don't know anything about science. What support is there for this imagination in the stimulus?

Will the finance minister's "Doing Business" ranking improve?

A. "Suppose it's easier for small businesses to comply with regulations. Can people open their storefronts faster?" How quickly businesses are built in reality is not a factor in the World Bank's evaluation.

B. "Are more businesses doing their taxes right now that filing was made easier?" Again, the argument is limited to hypothetical businesses.

C. Imagine it's harder to pay your taxes than comply with regulations. It can't be inferred from this whether it has, overall, become easier or harder for hypothetical businesses to make some bands.

D. Is the WorldBank's idea of a medium-sized business larger than the idea of a medium-sized business the minister of wizardy has? If it is, then it could be hypothetically more difficult for a medium sized business to get rack$ compared to last year, in spite of what he thinks. That suggests their ranking might not improve.

E. Imagine he's working at McDonald's. He'll still know last year's ranking.

E is defensible. Dove was influenced by German writers, to whom the boundaries of genre are more fluid than those of the United States. "Poets write plays, novelists compose libretti, playwrights write novels". If they're all writing in various genres, it's reasonable to infer they sometimes try their hand at dramas. Not sure how the author wouldn't agree with that.
