im so slow when it comes to abstract thinking and principles man, ill always get it right whether initally or blind review but i take like 40-1 min longer than i should because it just takes me a while to recognize the abstractness

I have always struggled with standardized testing studying but make sure youre more than just passively doing the lessons. Im personally trying to also be aware of where I routinely mess up and for the longest time these lessons I take much longer than needed for questions just to really break it down and try to create instincts. For example, I struggle with timing and I became aware that I have a bad habit of reading something quickly, not understanding it, then having to read it 2-3 more times. But reading it once slowly, whilst against my instincts, made me much faster.

I don't know if you're like me but I noticed I have a bad habit of being in a panic because of time so I read a question as fast as possible. However, I dont understand it the first time around so I then need to re-read 2-3 times total. I found that you simply have to go really slow the first time around and highlight key things. When I go slow on the stimulus, I only need to read it once to understand. I realized i have the habit on the answer choices too though so I still took 43 more seconds than the ideal for this question.

I simplified my thinking for the answers too but the way I viewed it is the question wants you to essentially bring the two studies closer together. For example, A talking about food being more efficient than supplements makes it make sense why study 1 showed more results than study 2. For E, it also brings it together. It introduces an alternative hypothesis that cigs may be the reason for the decrease or increase of cancers in the study and they correlate with how much a person eats BC. So since thats a very viable alternative hypothesis rather than how much a person eats BC it brings study 1's results closer to the no effect results of study 2.

I honestly thought high priority was labeled that way because it was important on the test for that section rather than its high priority for me. I wouldn't say I knowingly reversed cause and effect though.

Without fail no matter the topic I always get the high priority or very high priority questions wrong. i dont know why. Its always that specific category I get the rest right.
