How does applying twice look?

Thinking about applying with my current scores however I am 99% sure I want to take a year off and re-apply with better numbers. How is it looked upon if I do apply now and don't get in or get an offer I would accept and re-apply the next year?

Quick Question

I have not taken any of the PT's in the 60's or 70's except for PT62. As far as games go I do not want to miss something because I have never even seen a game like it, although I am sure it will still happen. What I mean by this is that the Circle game (for instance) is very unique so I have made sure I really have that game down. Are there any other games types that don't follow our normal set-ups? Also has their been any type of trend for games in the later PT'S? My last week I am really only going over stuff I want to review but am doing games games from Pt's that I have not seen yet in the lower PT Range <30. So anything dire I should see games wise in the most recent 25 PT's?

As always thank you. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving

Curious Question.

Has anyone gone back and identified the percentage of where the Fake section in the Test's lie? As in 20% it is first 30% it is last etc? I am just curious. Also it can show up anywhere correct?

SOB. I knew I had seen something close to it.

TBH I'm not even mad you can only remember so much on test day. Damn that sucks though. Someone out there has done this game and recalled it today on the test and was rewarded for their hard work. Mad props if that's you.

This game has 5 questions and a target time of ~10 minutes so with two additional questions we could be in 12+ target time territory. Too soon to say though as I think something was hidden that made this game easy. Excited to see how to go about solving it

Ah im pissed though...damn

Ahhh yeah that chess question. Was the only one I can remember that I had to consider two choices but felt really good when I pulled out my tools lol. What a stupid question though those two things in a relationship literally makes no fucking sense in the real world.

It was hard to understand because it was so stupid and not realistic. Int eh 1960's the question may have worked. not today though

@ I combined them but even so nothing was placed. It was only relative in that they were floating and closed off some possibilities. You could eliminate quickly a few choices for each question but to get the right answer choice would take some serious work.

That's how I remember it at least.

I think a sequencing chart might be in order for this game. Where you could header the numbers and play with the pieces based on what could possible go in that column.

The real problem was that I either missed or it never stated if you could have two things happen at once. I had to have missed the rule or wording that told you it had to be one at a time. From how I looked at the game two things at once was a possibility and really upped the difficulty.

@ yeah I think the passages weren't bad but the questions. I just remember on several being able to support multiple answer choices from the text. So much so I would point to the support for each choice and had to compare it.

Still trying to figure out that Computer Game I swear I've seen it before but it may have been a game not written by LSAC.

Dang that sucks on the "mis understand word question" I read it and read it and came back and read it some more and couldn't figure it out.

My fear for this test was LR was very easy and i'm worried that they might have done a really good job with wrong answer choices.

You know when you are doing games and you have all sub game-boards so you can mechanically go down the list and move right on? That was LR all three sections to a TEE. Never felt like this before but..yeah...idk.

Game 3 Sub-boards is the way to go for sure but you couldn't allow yourself to solve them all out. Had to roll with them because I don't think you could understand how the rules operate in your head. Also first time I have ever had a problem confusing rules between games and games 2 and 3 had me questioning the rules.

Hope you guys talk about the RC difficulty because I couldn't tell. Questions felt super fucking hard while passages were quite easy. idk.

On a lighter note, what a joke on that first game still took me 8 minutes bahahahaha. Might be the first ever 3 minute game. @ this game should take you 30 seconds. srs

If anything is not allowed please tell me or edit it!

Computer virus might go down as one of the hardest games.

Think Zephyr airlines but computer viruses. I fathom there is a very easy way to expose this game but in 9 minutes I couldn't figure it out. I had to have missed something. after all that studying just couldn't get it to click damn.

I can't talk more about it but check out zephyr. Also a water pipes game I thought had the same principals but I can't recall it. I'll look around.

When pieces can repeat almost always use the chart. I'm convinced they aren't on every test because the chart exposes them(chart games).

Went with 'E' on the PT and am surprised how quickly you got rid of it. After my read of the stimulus I questioned how comparable Sartore was to Kelly. Maybe Kelly only reviews movies that are low budget sundance films and Sartore only reviews 500billion dollar production films. If kelly and Sartore both reviewed the same movies then perhaps Kelly would blow Sartore out of the water!

Answer choice 'E' is like: "yo they both review the same movies, Kelly is just a piece of shit reviewer". This combats the flaw (you can't compare two things that aren't truly comparable) because with E they both review the same movies so what I just said in the stimulus is even stronger now.

That isn't what's going on though. your explanation is spot on and I saw that as well in my BR. Once I hit this area I expect harder questions thus overthink one from time to time.

God F$#% D!@#!@ motherF#$@$%

Alright i'm all good now haha.

https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-71-section-1-question-24/

I can't understand why answer choice 'B' is incorrect! Need some help!

The flaw of the argument is that it assumes there is no other reason that a child could have sleeping problems. Thus the conclusion that "removing the tonsils eliminates sleeping problems" rests on this assumption.

Answer choice 'E' is exactly that.

On second look however answer choice 'B' is exactly that as well.

The argument certainly relies on the assumption that there is (no other reason a child could have sleeping problems) than from the tonsils which is "tantamount to making the conclusion true." Answer choice 'B' even matches up 100% with my explanation!

What's more is that answer E and B when compared to each other support each other as well. Example:

"(B)relies on the assumption" that there "(E)is no other cause for sleeping problems during sleep"

Have looked all over but I can't find any explanation on this. Thanks for any help in advance.

Idea/Request for the site.

Is there anyway we can add a grader to the problem set sections? This way after the course is completed I can view my overall percentage of where I missed the most and work accordingly. Would also be nice to revisit these problems mixed up to truly see if I have understood the concepts without knowing the type of problem I am working on.

Thanks

100% do without any hesitation or question.

"You are saving a Horse that could help you win a championship for a race you might not ever run." = your line of thinking.

That doesn't make any sense. I used to think like that wish I could go back and slap myself in my face. lol but yeah you want to be as prepared as possible when you sit for any take. Saving material isn't helping you do that at all.

Took the the test 3 times. twice when I wasn't ready and the 3rd time I didn't break 170.

Those of you reading this don't take until you are ready or else you will end up like me.

Anyways is there any material about advice tips etc. I know the basic stuff (3 times 2 year period etc.) so yeah any help of information would be great! thanks fam.

obligatory Harambe pic because why not.

My friends don't get my LSAT jokes and that makes me sad.

1. Correlation always = Causation

2. The more money you spend on a course the higher the score you will get always.

3. For the games never split into boards.

4. For RC read the questions first, for every passage. Then read all the passages.

5. Read the directions before the section very carefully! They change often!

6. Bring your cell phone to the test center in case they update the center location.

7. Use a different color highlighter for every paragraph on RC to stay organized.

8. The LSAT is a born skill. If you take it the first time and don't score in the 170's you can't ever score that high.

9.For LR let the answers choices guide you. Often times you can have no idea about the stimulus but the right answer choice will just POP out at you.

10. Always read the answer choices first

11. Bring a really loud timer to the testing location to make sure you know when time is up!

12. When you take a PT always look at your score right away. This will provide you vindication that you are actually smart.

13. Use a pen on the scantron so the scoring machine can read the bubbles clearly

14. If you ever do a live BR session and the group is unsure about an answer look it up and tell them. "No guys it's B I looked"

14.5 IF you see 3 A's in a row the next answer can't be A as it is too many.

15. If you get into trouble, panic. It can help you power through questions you normally would miss.

Q13 is no joke.

I actually went with C as it matched my paraphrase very well.

My thinking was:

Yeah. she was unable to come up with a (demonstration/experiment/way to show) how radiation actually occurs.

Answer choice C matched that perfectly. damn

When in doubt call and ask. You don't want to be at the test center saying:

"LSATKingsman said this was acceptable!"

Plus I don't nor does anyone here have much pull at LSAC headquarters.

Well kind of. There are various schools of thought for RC and it sounds like you are in the first stages of creating your own. I will mention a few things that I think are very important to help you out.

1. You don't want to get caught day dreaming. You MUST manufacture interest that way you don't glaze over things you really have no interest in. This is important because you must understand when you don't truly understand something or when you just are being lazy.

2. The test writers put every single word in the passage for a reason. Now the key here is to understand that this does not mean you need it to answer the questions. Many times they strategically place sentences in places where it baits you to waste time reading it over and over again.

3. You 100% CANNOT waste time reading something over and over again because the reality is you might not even be asked about it.

TL/DR You need to be able to do 2 things when reading a passage. First, You need to be able to know where everything is so you can refer back to it without wasting time. Second, You need to understand the structure and relationship of the passage to answer MP/Author Q's/ etc type questions.

Pro Tip for logic Games. Anyone else do this?

Right after I transfer all the rules into Lawgic I go straight to the first question. My reasoning:

1. I am less likely to make mistakes because my paper is not written on yet.

2. When I split I like to represent my rules on my boards like JY and at times I would forget what the rule was.

3. Doing question one first is my insurance policy. If I take 3 minutes to split my boards and go to question one only to find I misread a rule I wasted all that time splitting on boards that aren't real.

Thoughts?

For example buy 10 explanation credits at a time and you can use them for any question on any PT that has a video.

I don't need to have the videos to every question on every test but would like to watch a couple on every PT I have taken. I won't spend $30 to have 2 questions explained but I would consider $1-$2 for each question.

Peace and Love fam.

What is your favorite LSAT Question and why?

Mine is for sure PT69.S1.Q14

The test writers really outdid themselves with this one. For some reason this concept is just really interesting to me (the flaw). Perhaps how properties of two things when taken independent of each other can be different when you combine them together.

This relationship is easy to see when you have different color paint etc but in LSAT world I found it super interesting.

Spent 30 minutes trying to understand what was wrong yet still could not understand the flaw until I looked.

I think your best bet is to get a divers watch with a rotating bezel. This way you can still use it after your LSAT days are over and I feel it is the quickest way to reset in-between sections.

Requests that would really help me out.

@"Dillon A. Wright" @"J.Y. Ping"

1. It would be a huge help to be able to enter multiple scores for the same PT. The BR feature kinda works but it takes a long time to plug in my answers and for many tests I have my BR answers in that spot! Would really help me see what questions I have missed multiple times and also let me see my progress.

Currently I am having to use incognito mode to score my test's as I don't want to erase my initial scores because I want to see what questions I am missing repeatedly. Analytics based on these scores would also be VERY telling in question type and what I am struggling with.

I know you both are super busy so maybe add this to spot #1243231 on the list. Haha

Thanks
