June'18 Study Group | Blind Review PT 66 | Tuesday, April 3rd | 7:30 pm EST

https://media.giphy.com/media/bori6vEAgpNRK/giphy.gif

Thank You Victoria for the gif to support the SG!!- @teamteamvicster (3(/strong)

I hope you're ready or gearing up to start PTing for the June 2018 LSAT. Join us this Tuesday if you are finished with the CC.

Provisional Schedule: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=f3n8s2l60gkgm2ju8m8kk4vhn4@group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York

Note:

For everyone: take the PT under timed conditions; BR as you are able on your own; then join us for all or part of the call—everyone is welcome.

Note: For the purposes of the call, we like to check our group blind review score together at the very end of the call :) So at least don't say ... "No guys, really, it's D, I checked it.” KEEP THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOURSELF. Win the argument with your reasoning.

These groups work best when folks from ALL stages of prep and with all different goals join in! Not just for "super-preppers" and definitely not just for the casual LSATer (does such a person exist?).

The only expectation anyone has for these calls is for you to have fun and ask questions as you desire. We are just a bunch of LSAT lovers who gather via GoToMeeting and intellectually slaughter each test.

Enter any questions you wish to go over on the spreadsheet below!

All the Best for Dec test takers!!

Blessed to be a part of the LSAT journey with 7Sagers challenging themselves to raise the bar higher to achieve their dreams. Your dedication to this test and most importantly your dedication to this community has raised the bar for future 7Sagers to gain knowledge to achieve their goals.

Believe in your knowledge and yourself... Be smart in your timing strategies, do not forget to breathe, and most of all - when the sh!t hits the fan, which it will no matter how awesome you are, don't sh!t in your pants - skip and get the heck out of that situation! Confidence is the key to this test and never let this test rule you!! The greatest feeling when leaving the test site is to know that you took the test the way you wanted to - no matter what the score is - no regrets:)

For everyone that I had the chance to meet during our LSAT journey, you made a difference in my life and I am truly thankful and wish you all the best on Saturday:)

Looking forward to the announcement for the Pep Rally - @"Cant Get Right" :)

The best advice is to wait until you are "ready" to take the test! The greatest gift is to take the test and achieve your score!

For some of us, that didn’t happen on our first take.

What happens if after taking the test and the experience leaves you stressed thinking you weren’t ready?

Before you get your score, please consider doing a thorough post-take written analysis of your experience. As recommended to me by the Sages in my attempts to match my PT scores to Actual test scores, I have seen significant improvement by following their advice:)

There are 2 aspects post-take that are paramount to gain from the experience…

-How did I procedurally take the test?

o Was my pre-test routine sufficient to provide the best testing experience?

o Was my timing strategy on point - Did I skip difficult LR questions, RC passages & LG games efficiently?

o Did I let a rough patch undermine my confidence in my ability?

What were my weaknesses that caused me to lose confidence?

o What LR questions, RC passages, LG games cost me time or points?

o Did I try a new strategy too close to test date that I hadn’t made instinctual - to think more about the strategy than what the test presented?

o How did I handle questions that are my known weakness and what can I do to drill them to remove that insecurity?

I learned so much from my previous takes! The first take is a blur - I had no clue what I was doing even with all of my prep to take it when I was ready. My 2nd & 3rd takes were exciting because I saw the differences in my understanding not just on certain specific aspects of the test but on a global understanding of how to conquer the test.

Hope you feel the same way I do with no regrets about being "Ready"... If you achieve your score, then LS application focus! If you under-preformed, then you have a game plan.

If a retake is on your horizon, hope this helps :)

All the best on your scores!!

    David,

Thank you for sharing your insight into a very valuable nuance on how to attack this type of argument. For those of us that were given the gift of your personal explanation on specific questions during our SG BR groups, it was a game changer on strategy to quickly move through the question!

All the best on July (3(/p)

@ thanks for the tag (3(/p)

YES! Stay true to your dreams of law school no matter what age:)

Been around and have success stories that I will share as soon as I get my personal life in order after Hurricane Irma delayed me another cycle. I started studying at 48 and have decent scores in the higher percentiles but knew I hadn't come close to my score potential. Nothing like a bunch of trees falling on your house where thankfully no one was hurt but changes your life completely and delaying my lsat and app's another cycle. It hurts but resilience is the key (3(/p)

One thing that is hard is balancing life obligations in respect to personal goals especially for those of us that are not "traditional" students. It can be done and so glad you are building a support system to get thru the lsat journey. Hope to add to this post soon.

    All the best:)

    @ & @

So great you want to start BRing PTs now in your prep!

In the past, many of us have reached out to each other either thru DM or in the posts to start a side call using other platforms, i.e. Skype, Discord etc. to start PTing before an official SG group started.

One of the greatest opportunities from my personal experience is to be on an interactive call with JY and hope everyone can join his RC intensive - https://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/15999/rc-review-pts-58-65-all-rc-sections-may-3rd-june-2nd-9pm-midnight-edt

Given JY offering this unique and special opportunity, I can only hope everyone will take advantage of the experience as long as they follow JYs caveat -

How many of these sessions should I join?

Probably half or fewer. The reason is because you don't want to waste PTs. You'll learn something from these sessions but the returns diminish at some point. And there's value in keeping a subset of these PTs clean so you can use them as fully timed PTs.

If I can help in any way, please let me know:)

@ sweet you saved me the work of planning! I definetly wouldn't mind any help you or anyone else has to offer. I don't think we'd do a BR call on the week of the test. If we do, I think it would just be us psyching each other up hahaha. Anything that close to that test can be psychologically damaging I think.

All about however you plan the schedule but highly recommend having a Pep Rally the last week before the test. Yes, PTs that week can be more harmful than helpful but always up to the individual to determine their vulnerability to not do anything that would jeopardize their confidence. Some people take a PT that week and not score it, some take sections and not score and some just take their favorite PT (if such exists, lol) to boost their confidence - for me I do a couple of older repeat sections and some of my favorite drills with an emphasis on LG.

Hopefully before the last week if you want to take a fresh scored PT then you will have built relationships to pursue a side BR call that week but wouldn't recommend having an SG new PT scheduled for that week :)

Look forward to meeting you all on JYs RC calls!

As a part of the standard SG post...

"The only expectation anyone has for these calls is for you to have fun and ask questions as you desire. We are just a bunch of LSAT lovers who gather via GoToMeeting and intellectually slaughter each test."

This SG has surpassed that standard not just in initiative to actively be a part of the conversation and stimulating very thoughtful and valuable discussions during BR but most importantly in building a supportive group that everyone could hopefully trust to be vulnerable and also challenge each other to learn the most from this test. Then the core group took it to another level and built friendships on the call that led to many of you meeting in person to PT or BR together :)

You have done all of the hard work preparing - Now it is time to have FUN and talk about how to pack your ziplock and what to do to celebrate when you walk out the door of your test center!!!

All the best to you and know that we are all there with you (3(/p)
