"Practice? We talking about practice? It's just practice. It's not a game, not a game, but practice." Something along those lines from a Hall of Famer basketball player haha.
I'm having it right now, I can't remember whether I even checked that I filled in the bubbles for all 5 sections haha. Just forget about it, it's not like we can do anything at this point.
Believe in yourself, and let the LSAT world play itself out.
I'd say take a break. You deserve it. You just wrote a 4 hour-ish test. Go play some games, exercise or whatever you do for fun. Come back to it 2-3 weeks later. That's just my two cents =).
PS: No one knows how they did on the LSAT haha.
23 for LG, 26 for LR, 25 for LR, 27 for RC. The basic =) Everyone forget about how you did now. You guys all deserve a break, and whether or not you hit your target score, be proud of yourself for writing one of the hardest (in my opinion) standardized testings the world has to offer.
7sage, I thank you for being awesome, and will be back once grey day hits!
I can say RC was easier than normal. It wasn't as convoluted? LR was LR (maybe possible questions with some tricks). LG => First three was so easy I thought it was experimental. Then comes the computers. Do computers even get viruses anymore? haha - Let the LSAT Gods be with me on grey day.
I also had 2 LGs. I literally had 15 minutes for this game. I guessed every single question carefully. It was an absolute monster. I was fortunate enough to have it on my last section though... Coming from a guy who usually goes -0 in LG...
I had two LG, I had 10 mins for that computer virus game, and got smacked. One of the hardest I've done.
It's okay, that's just how it printed (same for me). You're fine =) Just make sure it isn't blurred out or anything.
If it is really bothering you, worse yet, bring a photo as a replacement.
1) Quickly skim (max 30 seconds) each passage and pick 3 you like the most.
2) Pick the 3 that has the most questions in total.
3) Find another method that helps you finish all 4 passages =)
I Hope you still guess the ones that you don't finish too!
=) You are awesome! I will now destroy this test and make it mine! Most importantly, I'll have some "fun" with this new PT.
Aim for the best you can be. Sure 170 is possible. Would human intelligence help? Of course it would. Some individuals think differently and the way the test is created.
But why stop at 170? Assuming you're just starting off, you will end up figuring out your strengths and weaknesses at approaching the LSAT.
Aim for the moon and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars (one of my favourite cliche quotes haha).
Everyone, and I mean, every single individual has their own path to success OR failure in writing the LSAT. If the test was that simple, every one who wants to be a lawyer would be at law school.
Work hard, study hard, play hard, and most importantly know when to relax. Never forget to give some time to yourself. LSAT is not about memorization but a habit. A LIFESTYLE (haha).
Good luck!
3-4 hours a day =). At this point, I don't think I'm learning any more about the test (Sept.). Just trying to stay fresh every day and be on my game when the pressure is on! I take days off when I need to and feel like I'm not reading as I should.
Sometimes those longer questions can be solved in a minute. A lot of the long questions have what I call "fluff". These questions are ACTUALLY, sometimes way easier than the short ones. Short stimuli are actually quite difficult sometimes.
I'd say skip questions that are hard to understand when read first time through.
But by all means, if the current method of skipping long questions gives you the best possible marks, no one should tell you otherwise. =)
I know the feel. I'm actually going through this right now. Started from PT 38 -> high 160's, to low 170's in PT 50's, then back to mid160's in PT 60's. Does this mean I can't get a 170 on the real test? Heck no, I'm just going to keep trying and give it my all.
Just believe in yourself and that all the studying you have done WILL NOT BE UNDONE because of a few bad PTs.
I believe in you. Get into USC/UCLA because hard work will pay off!! Keep focus and concentration. Don't let the scores of a PT hurt your confidence. You know your stuff, stick with it, learn from your mistakes, and move on with it.
Taking September. Currently on PT 68. Got 10 more left to do =) (11 if you count PT 68 itself haha).
Just excited to test my skills after 8 months of grinding. Let's see how I do and execute under pressure!
Went from -10 to -12 in RC to -5 to -8.
LR (2 sections) is consistent at -6 to -8
LG is consistent at -0 to -2.
Let's go!!
The passage isn't as convoluted... So if you aren't understanding them, it does sound like a burnout as mentioned from @
LR is definitely more subtle. I'm slowly making the transition from the PT 50's to PT 60's.
RC I feel like got a bit easier for me? I don't know I used to average around -7 to -9, now I'm averaging around -5.
LG is pretty much still the same.
Those are my two cents.
I bubble in after each page (before I flip onto the next one). This basically means every 2 open pages.
I just finished PT 60. That means 18 more to go right? 1 month left - very well possible!
I know I'm burnt out when I start reading something and I've literally just read something. If I can't understand the stimulus (not due to it being convoluted or difficult), I know something is wrong. I take a few days rest, think about other things, enjoy a bit of life and come back to it.
My experience came in handy that I used to work at an oil company predicting oil flows... 6/6 in 8 minutes. Goes to show how well an individual can do if one is vastly interested in a passage (and RC is my weakest section).
Hope that when I write the test, the passages will be about my major + past experiences haha.
Had to read this stimulus carefully. Conclusion is about the bears in the VALLEY not in the Preserve.
Was stuck between A and B. A is just context!
Don't know why but I had a lot of trouble with D and E. D plays with your mind. D wants you to believe that is the reason it fails to consider. However nothing about D is even mentioned in the stimulus. We don't care if they are aware or unaware.
E is therefore the best one.
7/7 in 8 minutes! Yes! Question 8 was the most difficult because I didn't like the word "profit". Line 46-47 proves this however.
However, it was a much better answer choice that A because "from science to the humanities" is not what scientific humanism is.
Any question that says: Choose the answer choice that matches the overall conclusion or something. Never have to "understand" the stimulus, but just locate the conclusion =).
