Anybody have any tips on how to improve in reading comprehension? It has consistently been my worst section throughout my studies, and from what I've heard most people feel the same way. I feel like this section has the least amount of study resources in any curriculum as well, lol. However, anybody who's strength lies in this particular section have any insight on how they succeed? Or anybody who has improved in this section have any advice? There has got to be a way to improve here other than just being a natural, right ??

Understood this so much better once J.Y drew out the Koch curve! Somehow I only got two wrong on this passage even though I was completely confused, and reading comp used to be my worst section. Thanks 7Sage you’ve helped so much
I HATE this question. I feel like b makes an assumption that creative stories are better but we were never told what criteria the stories were gonna be judged on. Common sense tells you that creative stories are better but were specifically told NOT to use real world knowledge like that on the LSAT. It’s annoying that for some questions it’s wrong to choose answers using real world knowledge but on other questions like this it’s okay. Where is the line drawn because it’s not clear at all for this test. Also, I feel like A is stronger because it talks about the level of quality overall and not just one aspect of the work like b does, only talking about it’s creativity. When was creativity ever a factor. What if people don’t want a creative story? What if they just want a traditional, comforting, cute story? Why does it have to be CREATIVE to be good ? #rant
Good explanation for 26 thank you I needed that I understand weakening better now
My same problem I keep scoring in 156-low 160s it’s all over that range n I take the test in a week...I want it to be consistent in the low 160s.
I’ve noticed that reading comp kills my score, I get at least 8 wrong per section :/ don’t know what else I can do at this point.
What I’ve been doing is just simulating the lsat flex at this point as often as possible and going over what I get wrong. Paying a lot of attention to traps that I end up falling for or am attracted to and building my confidence.
If anyone has tips I would really like to hear them as well :(
This is gonna sound weird but I’m so happy the flex is a thing mainly cus I drink so much coffee beforehand so if it’s really a problem I can pee my pants n no one will know (3 taking the lsat holding ur pee is a nightmare ;((/p)
I'm really enjoying hearing about everyone's experience with their personal statements and the different steps they took to get it started/finish it !! Thanks for all the wonderful responses (3(/p)
@ I really love this response. This is great advice. Thank you!!
Honestly I don’t even know what B is even saying I just got it from process of elimination
I’m sorry but the word quackery is so funny to me I couldn’t help but laugh like who says that lol
@ thank you for your thoughtful response/encouragement ! You’re absolutely right, I should just start typing at least to get the ball rolling. (3(/p)
@ thank you for your response !!
Man E isn’t fair because so what if the epidemic doesn’t last as long than it did in the past? We’re comparing the length of a virus from way back in the past to modern day when now we have more advances in technology and medicine and overall knowledge about sickness, the body, and hygiene. Also, so what if not all victims of the virus get hiccups? You can still have a virus/sickness without displaying all symptoms that come with it (hello, Covid). I understand you aren’t supposed to bring real world knowledge into the lsat but on some other questions JY even states in some instances it’s “reasonable” to make certain assumptions. The distinction has to be way more clear. This test is honestly bullshit
For some reason I thought the flaw could have been overlapping sets :(
I still have to brain storm but trying to pick a topic for my personal statement has been something I’ve been putting off for a long time because I feel like I don’t have anything unique !!
I don’t have any clubs or extracurriculars I was heavily involved in, I’m just normal. I can’t put my finger on any life changing experiences I’ve had. The only reason/excuse I have for that is throughout college I worked full time to pay my bills as I’ve always been independent like that. I didn’t have time to be involved like that because I worked a lottttt (bartending really late nights). I barely slept to do assignments and whatnot. That’s one of the only things I can think of when it comes to being a little bit different because most of my peers had roommates or lived at home or had someone paying their rent but still it’s not like I’m an anomaly in that respect.
Maybe I just need to think of my past and qualities in a different light but right now I’m having a block. Has anyone been in this situation when it comes to a personal statement? Were you able to figure something out? Any advice? Anyone in the same boat who maybe wants to chat to help each other come up with some kind of game plan? I don’t really know anyone irl who knows about law school stuff to give me some pointers or mentoring, this is the only community I have for that soooo if anyone has something to add or something you would like to talk out yourself if you’re dealing w a similar issue comment below or my inbox is open :) I don’t really have much going for me lately with COVID and the fact that I’m done studying for the lsat now so I’ll answer lol
None of the answers for 19 sounds right based on the passage in my opinion that questions annoying
Okay what don’t I get..I know I’m really bad at math but this is weird to me I only got it right off intuition. So imagine you have ten pin tipped and ten bladed and all the pin tipped are used for engraving as the stimulus says, but sometimes the bladed ones are used for engraving and sometimes not. Let’s pretend here all ten of the bladed ones are NOT used for engraving. If there’s 10 pin tipped & 10 bladed that’s equal amount of Tools used & not used for engraving...wth
Thank you so much for this explanation JY I think this cleared up a lot of confusion I didn’t even know I had for questions like this, the way you explained this really clicked bravo love u
Because I know my August lsat scores are supposed to come in tomorrow :( (technically today bc it’s late) is anybody with me ?? Feel free to talk about ur scores/how the test went for u on this post :( I’m nervous
Religious institutions disregarding unethical behavior ?? Nooooo effing waaaay
I don’t like question 7 if ur an immigrant who came here legally or u have a green card u now represent the population so why should u have to account for the change just don’t get the point of doing that in the first place.
So I just got done sitting for the July 2019 lsat. I feel like this is my worst performance ever because some guy in front of me kept bouncing his leg and I could not for the life of me channel it out. I guess that’s my bad for not practicing in conditions where there might be distractions, but I feel as though it severely hindered my performance. This was my third time taking it...if I cancel my score and retake for free like we are given the opportunity to, does it look bad to admissions officers if I have three
Lsat scores in addition to one cancel ?? :(
who agrees
Nervous about registering for a flex lsat if they will be doing lsat like this for a while because I have been doing practice tests the traditional five section way for a while. Do you think it will be more difficult to get a higher score with only three sections or will it be about the same? And supposedly they aren’t going to make it more difficult because it’s three sections but I honestly don’t know if that’s going to be the case lol. Also how do you think law schools will view a flex score ?
Hi guys LR is my most consistent section but it seems like the questions I always get wrong are flaw questions. I’ve already been over the flaw curriculum in 7Sage so many times and still having issues anyone know any other resources for those types or advice? Also for those of you taking the flex at the end of this month are you changing up your studying since it’s getting close? I’ve decided to simulate flex tests as much as possible just to get used to the timing and flow because like I said LR is my saving grace so now I have to make sure I’m quicker and better in LG and RC since I won’t have the extra LR points to rely on.
Any tips on RC? I’ve improved but still my worst section. If u have noticed any patterns in wrong/right answer choices for RC please tell me my brain gets the LR ones but still not as good in RC really could use tips like desperately haha
hard Time eliminating C I understand the crucial aspect but if a computer replaces a human doing a proof what other way is there to do the proof ? I don’t like saying “well you can use a computer and a calculator so since you’re using both you’re not relying crucially on computers” well a calculator is a type of computer..so you would still relying crucially on computers. Aside from a human or a type of computer doing a proof I don’t know any other options. I’m confused
I get why C is right but for A why is it wrong to assume that if the proportion of birds visiting feeders is much lower than usual that it was an unusual winter ? Because if they normally visit feeders much more due to weather conditions but now aren’t because that changed it’s not the usual phenomenon so to me seems like a unusual winter
Thanks for clearing up what qualify meant because that was what got me stuck on this question and it’s come up in other answers choices too and I just never got around to googling it
So when I do lg I find myself double checking my work constantlyyy to make sure I haven’t made a mistake or written something down wrong which obviously can be a good thing but I’m wondering if doing this too much might actually be wasting a lot of my time? Anybody who’s great at logic games have any tips on how to get so confident with games that you’re not doubting yourself, or any tips on how to get a good flow going ?
Ok you guys I figured as much was just a little nervous and overthinking but the comments have alleviated my anxiety a bit (3(/p)
