So are the Blackwing Pearls for sure approved for test day?

Wow, I'm so pissed about this. I never would have bought my Master Mind watch had I known this. Now a complete waste of $60.

I purchased the Master Mind watch a little while back and so far its awesome. I have had zero problems with it. It resets easily and accurately. If it was discontinued before it isn't anymore. I read tons of reviews about which watch was the best and the 180 seemed to have tons of issues breaking. Everything I read about the Mastermind watch said it was the best quality one out there. To me the extra money was worth the easiness of reseting the watch. I don't want to be hurrying between sections on test day to reset my watch when what I really need is a quick breather. I just want to touch one button and have it be done and ready.

I purchased it here.

What pencil to use for exam day?

Why are the Tri Conderoga’s so freaking hard to sharpen!

I think I want to use this pencil for test day but can’t seem to get a good point. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I’ve been digging the Staedler Wopex. But the tip keeps breaking.

Any other pencils out there people recommend?

JD/MBA

I just took the December LSAT and got the score I needed. Now I am going to finish up my law school applications and submit them in the next couple of weeks. After that I will begin studying for the GMAT.

I started studying for the LSAT using Kaplan. It didn't work too well for me. I found 7sage and had a 12 point increase in my score by studying 6 weeks leading up to the test.

I am wondering if any of you are doing the JD/MBA and if so what prep courses you have found that are similar to the 7sage style.

Thanks in advance!

Switching from Kaplan to 7Sage

I am new to 7Sage and am just getting started with this program and am loving it so far. However, I am concerned with the best approach to take on practice tests. I've already taken tests 64, 72-73, and 75-76 as full length proctored exams while going through Kaplan's syllabus. I've also been taking their lessons for quite a while and have fairly thoroughly covered their plan which uses tests 45-61. I was planning on using all other tests as full length proctored exams as I push towards the December 2nd LSAT.

Looking over the plan here at 7Sage- I am worried about using all of the earlier tests 1-35 to go through all of the material.

That would only leave me 36-44 and 61-81 minus the 5 sections I have already taken.

Is 24 more full length proctored exams enough?

From a 153 PT to a 172 BR

I just competed test number 71. I was super frustrated when my score dropped on my practice test to a 153. But then super excited to get my highest BR score ever, a 172. I have never had such a huge gap between the two. Usually my BR is only 7-10 points higher than my PT. Not really sure what to infer from this though.

Have any of you had this happen?

Just wondering when it will be optimized for iPhone X's larger screen. It's tiny on my phone right now.

upgrading the course

If I choose to upgrade to the ultimate+ course will I have access to video explanations of all the PT's RC questions as well as LG questions? I hate only being able to see the explanations of the games. From the list of what the higher package says it sounds like it does but wanted to be absolutely sure before dropping another $400 bucks.

This question was weirdly hard for me. At the end I ruled D out because when I tried the negation rule it didn't seem like it destroyed the argument because of the word "could" in the stimulus.

My thought process was- if the other civilization didn't want to communicate that doesn't mean they couldn't easily do it if they did want to. They still "could" have.

Anyone else have this?

@

Yeah, you sure could. Whatever you feel works for you is great. It's all about increased confidence walking into the exam. For me 19.99 for the perfect score watch is well worth it. I like that it has colored sections to help me keep track of my pace.

I'm not sure how to post actual pictures but these links are screen shots of my email conversation with them about the lsatmax watch.

I guess if we all have these screenshots saved or printed the proctor couldn't go against it.

Update: I have received a response email from LSAC that the lsatmax watch is on the list for approved LSAT watches for test day Dec 2017.

The list of approved watches includes:

LSATmax

PerfectScore

Toptier

Casio LSAT watch (again haven't been able to locate this one whatever it is)

Hope this helps.

Why does RC suck so bad!

I swear no matter how fast I go I cannot finish an entire RC section. I have no problem finishing LR and LG. But for some reason I can’t get through this section in 35 minutes. I usually have 5 minutes remaining with an entire passage left.

What have you guys done to speed up RC without making a bunch of silly mistakes.

@ - No, I actually asked about the LSAT MAX watch and she said she didn't have it on her list either way. So best bet would be to email lsacinfo@.org and ask specifically.

@ @ I do agree they should stop production of the watches that are aren't allowed anymore, but its a total bummer for these guys too because I'm sure they have quite a bit of inventory on hand that is now a loss.

@ - You bet! I'm considering purchasing one too. Its only $20 ish.

@ I guess you could be right, but it sounded pretty promising that she pulled up an exact list of what LSAT specific watches are approved.

I purchased the Master Mind Watch a few weeks back and then found out that it might not be approved anymore. I called into LSAC to find out exactly what the policy is. The representative I spoke with gave me a list of LSAT specific watches that are on the approved list of watches. Unfortunately, the Master Mind Watch is not one of them due to its start/stop/reset capabilities. However, she did tell me that the perfect score watch is approved as well as the Top Tier watch. She also told me the Casio LSAT watch is approved although I haven't found that one. Here are the links to two of the watches that she did say are approved.

Also, many of the Universities will accept this Feb’s LSAT for this fall’s class. If my December test doesn’t go as well as I want it to I will retake in Feb. But I will still apply for 2018.

And yes as Jack said the late registration end date is now the 7th of November.
