Why are the Tri Conderoga’s so freaking hard to sharpen!
I think I want to use this pencil for test day but can’t seem to get a good point. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, I’ve been digging the Staedler Wopex. But the tip keeps breaking.
Any other pencils out there people recommend?

First of all you guys are crazy, but it's a beautiful crazy which belongs in the pencil thread if we can find it.
Second of all, I got my 180 with normal black Ticonderogas so I consider them the absolute best possible pencils.
I exclusively used Ticonderoga pencils for all my prep for my retake and for my classes till the September test. I'm trying to break myself of the Ticonderoga addiction, but using pens upsets me a little now. They may write smoother, but they don't feel the same and they don't erase.

I know there is the Pencil thread, but I think it's time J.Y. revealed what he uses (like he did with the watch). It will solve this whole pencil debate.
He has confirmed that it is indeed this Wopex: https://www.amazon.com/Staedtler-180HB9S1BK-Premium-Sharpener-Rasoplast/dp/B008IGO9U0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1509237897&sr=8-2&keywords=staedtler+wopex
So I bought a bunch and that was the end of the pencil debate for me :)
Oh I didn't know that! :clicking "Add to Cart":
Haha! That was my exact reaction!

Have you used these Wopex pencils?

These are the original Wopex pencils which I like a lot more than the newer neon colored versions. I think the lead is a bit less brittle, i.e., not as likely to break.
The absolutely best pencils, hands down, are the Mitsubishi Hi Uni and the Tombow Mono 100. They're both pretty expensive, relatively speaking, but for a one-time purchase, I think it's worth it.
You should check out the infamous Pencil thread...

I'm a fan of the my first tris. They come presharpened... and 0 hand fatigue and there's something relaxing about using a kindergartener pencil on the LSAT.
