Want to Try the New 7Sage? 🚀

Update: The open beta is currently closed. Thanks to everyone who signed up. Stay tuned for an announcement on how you can transfer your subscription to the new website, and happy studying!**

We’ve been working hard on a new version of 7Sage, and it’s finally in beta! 🎉

What’s new in 7Sage 2?

✅ A better drill builder

✅ A better way to review your drills, sections, and PrepTests

Basic drill analytics to track progress

Smart practice recommendations tailored to you

✅ A cleaner, more intuitive design for a smoother experience

A few caveats:

⚠️The new website will think you're a new user, and we can't import your analytics.

⚠️The new website is not yet optimized for mobile devices.

We’re rolling out beta access over the next few weeks. If you’d like to be one of the first to try it, sign up here:

Looking forward to your feedback!

Update on 2024-03-21: we've ended this experiment and turned off the study session calendar. Thanks to everyone who came to a collaborative study session!**

Hey 7Sage,

I'm excited to announce free, on-demand, small-group study sessions! Every weekday, we're offering four sessions with ten slots each. The sessions are designed to be student-led—no 7Sage staff will be in the meeting—but we'll provide your group with a suggested activity.

Please note that the meetings will be recorded for the safety of all participants.

Sign up for a small-group study session now!

This is an experiment, and we’d love to hear your feedback.

Live GRE Class

Hi everyone,

While you’ve been blind-reviewing, Foolproofing and thinking more about the word “unless” than anyone would have believed possible, J.Y. and I have been on a internetgalactic quest for the best teacher in the GRE universe. We found Andrew Colford, who got a near-perfect GRE score (169Q/170V), who (doesn’t want me to tell you) that he’s appeared in movies and TV, and who JY’d J.Y. in a math lesson.

If you’re thinking about applying to law school (or any school) with the GRE, check out our upcoming class. We’re limiting it to ten students on a first-come, first-serve basis. We welcome learners at all levels: Andrew will give individualized homework assignments for students who need extra help or an extra challenge.

What: Comprehensive GRE Class

When:

  • Saturdays from 1 to 3 p.m. ET
  • Every week from July 15 through September 16 except for August 5 and September 2 (see full schedule)
  • Price: $599. The Official Guide to the GRE and ETS's official math practice book are included.

Where: This is a live, remote class. We’ll meet on Zoom. Recordings will be available to students of the class.

    What to expect:

  • Lively discussions
  • A combination of theory and GRE trickology (i.e., the “right” way and the fast way to do a problem)
  • Weekly homework assignments
  • Sign up here.

@ we removed being international and time of application from the model because the data about those factors was too noisy.

@ in the 2023–2024 admissions cycle, which occurred after the Supreme Court decision against affirmative action, we observed a correlation between self-identified under-represented minority applicants and acceptance. We suspect that these applicants were able to convey their biographies in their applications, which had a positive impact on their chances.

Hey 7Sage—I want to show you a feature of our new design and ask some questions about it. Respond if you're interested and if you have some time today! I'll probably want twenty to thirty minutes of your time over Zoom.

We're trying to figure out how to create default usernames on our new site. Do you want to be anonymous on the 7Sage forum, or in chat if we had it? Why or why not? Please take the poll and respond in the comments if you have more to say.

Hi everyone. This experiment has run its course, so I've canceled the Calendly event page and all remaining events. Thanks to everyone who participated! We're working on building a version of this feature right into our website.

I had planned on leaving the Calendly event page up and letting people continue to use it. The problem, though, is that once I "unpinned" this post from the forum, the events stopped receiving critical mass.

Roughly one out of every two sign-ups fail to show up for any given session. When this post became less visible, we got a lot of time slots with only two sign-ups. That resulted in a number of people showing up only to find themselves alone. Rather than leaving the experiment in limbo—and risking a lot of empty study sessions—I decided to pull the plug.

Thanks for your interest, everyone! If there is a groundswell of enthusiasm for this, I'll consider reviving it, but for the time being, the Calendly event is turned off.

Would the forum be better or worse if…

We're working on a new forum design, and I need your feedback.

Say that we removed posts about specific LSAT questions—e.g., "PTC.S3.Q23"— from the forum's main feed. We would direct the discussion of an LSAT question to that question's page.

    Would the forum be better?

    Thanks @ . That's on our roadmap.

If you don't know what the title of this post means, I've got good news! This change won't affect you at all. It will only make your life on 7Sage a bit simpler.

If you use our Admissions site, heads up! We're folding the Admissions Site into the LSAT site, and for the time being, there's a new way to navigate to the Admissions Course.

@ it's up to you, but I would recommend switching to the new site if you don't have any analytics on the old site. It's easy to check off your progress in the new curriculum, and the lesson content (other than the first module on the new site) is the same.

@ Thank you. We'll fix that.

@ this platform will continue to work! You'll just have to go to classic.7sage.com instead of 7sage.com

@ you'll keep getting what you paid for! You can continue to use the current version of 7Sage with all of your data; you'll just have to navigate to classic.7sage.com.

@ You can keep up your group chat on this site! Again, this platform will keep working; you'll just go to classic.7sage.com instead of 7sage.com

Update: The new site is live and running on 7sage.com as of 1:30 a.m. ET. The classic site—this one—will stay on classic.7sage.com for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your patience!

    Original announcement:

At 11:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 22, 7Sage will go down for maintenance until about 7:30 a.m. ET on Monday, June 23.

    When it comes back:

  • The current site (what you see when you go to 7sage.com) will only be accessible at classic.7sage.com.
  • If you visit 7sage.com, you will end up on a brand new 7Sage. It will be a completely separate site, and you will need to create a new account to use it.
  • 👉 Don’t worry. You won’t lose access to anything! Just remember that, starting on the morning of Monday, June 23 ET, you’ll need to visit classic.7sage.com to keep using the 7Sage you use now.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Will the current site keep working after the transfer?

Yes, everything will keep working exactly as before. The only difference is that you will have to type classic.7sage.com into your browser instead of 7sage.com.

What’s the difference between the old site and the new site?

The new site has a cleaner look and feel, more explanations, better analytics, a ton of new features, and countless small improvements to help you reach your goal score faster. Take a look:

Can I try the new site before the Big Switch?

Yes! Just create an account at new.7sage.com. Use the same email address you used for the current site. Once you’re logged in, head on over to the billing page to see if you can transfer your subscriptions to the new site. (Some subscriptions are not eligible for automatic transfer.)

⚠️ Your analytics and data (PrepTests, questions taken, etc.) will NOT transfer to the new site.

Why can’t you transfer my data to the new site?

We rebuilt the new site from scratch, and it's incompatible with the old site.

If I transfer my subscription to the new site, will I still have access to the old site?

Yes! If you transfer your subscription from the old site to the new site on the billing page, you will still have access to the old site until you stop subscribing or until the end of 2025—whichever comes sooner.

Should I switch to the new site?

If you’re just starting out or if you don’t have a lot of analytics on the old site, yes, you should definitely switch to the new site.

If you have a ton of analytics on the old site—say, more than two PrepTests worth, or more than 40 drills—you might want to stick to the current site.

What colors do you use to highlight?

Do you use the highlighter tool in the digital tester? Do you always use the same colors to highlight premises and conclusions? If so, then boy is this the poll for you!

We're working on a new feature for our explanation pages, and your input will help us make it better for you. Please respond to the poll, the comments, or both.

Bonus question for the comments: what do you highlight?

New analytics graphs: which do you like best?

I'd love your input on a new design for 7Sage Analytics!

Pretend you just finished a PrepTest. Which screen do you want to see?

Note that the graphs showing section scores and the question tables are the same in the first three options. Only the visualization in the upper left is different.

    Option A: Donut

Picture showing mouse hovering over the yellow arc

    Option B: Bar

    Option C: Double Dial

Option D: Two Dials (as on current site)

@ No, the monthly subscription price will not increase.

You shouldn't wait to subscribe. We are only accepting subscriptions on this site (7sage.com/pricing/) and only allowing our subscribers to use the beta site. Thus, if you subscribe, you can use the new site or the old site—whichever you prefer.

    Question about notes

We want to improve our notes features and we need your input!

What format do you take your study notes in? Handwritten, Word doc, spreadsheet, etc?

Roughly how many notes do you have altogether, in any format? Approximately how many do you add each week (or month, or whatever)?

What do you takes on? E.g., lessons, live classes, PrepTests, drills, questions, explanations, or anything else? If you take notes on more than one kind of thing, roughly what percent of your notes fall into each category?

Please respond in the comments. Thank you for your help!

I recommend adding a "why X" bit if and only if you can say something that is genuinely tailored to the school. Adding an obviously generic sentence like "And that is why I hope to attend [INSERT LAW SCHOOL NAME]" or "your great program will help me achieve my dreams" is not going to help and could hurt.

Note that, even if you do add a "why X" bit to your PS, you don't have to write much—just well.

To everyone who responded to my last survey—thank you! Your responses are going to help us build a better 7Sage. Now I’ve got another one with another set of prizes.

Are you interested in joining a study group? Take a short survey for a chance to win a free edit by one of our professional writers. (We’ll pick two respondents at random for the prize.)

Take the survey now and grab your chance!

Thank you for the feedback, @

7Sage's drill-builder only lets you see the answers to questions after you finish the drill. We're thinking of letting you choose whether to see the answers at the end (as in the current setup) or to see the answers—and possibly an explanation—after each question of the drill.

I'd love to hear from you in the comments about whether, when, and how often you might choose to see answers after each question.

    Confirm action

    Are you sure?
