I am so silly. The MMPA of 1972 continued the prohibition and introduced an exemption. So there could not have been an exemption before 1972, and Alaska Natives could not have hunted sea otters between 1920 and 1972. But I misread answer choice A and thought, "That's obviously wrong. While Alaska Natives were prohibited from hunting sea otters, they did have an exemption."
Wow I'm being humbled so much in this section.
Feeling discouraged because this section has been wrecking me in particular while most of the comment section seemed to have breezed through it. I understand the explanation videos and get the process. But on my own, everything feels so murky and questionable, and it takes way too long for me to get the clarity needed to solve the questions.
I got so caught up in the fact that they tried to compare a 40-ton stone with a 9-ton stone, and I tried to find an answer that points it out. Sigh
"so many other pets: cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish, reptiles, etc." This is bird erasure
I was staring at this problem, wondering why D is the right answer. Then I realized the "free installation" part threw me off. I thought it was referring to the customers getting the software for free, and installing it themselves. This means more work and complexity, which ultimately supports the author's conclusion. But what they meant by "free installation" was someone coming to install and set things up for them.
And then I saw that PT 118 was administered in October 2000 and December 2004. >:(
The multiple sandwiching of the views made this question's answer choices difficult to digest.
For example, for answer choice D, "It is incorrect because it makes no distinction between reality and fantasy," it is saying "Dostoyevsky would most likely have agreed with [the ["It is incorrect because it makes no distinction between reality and fantasy"] statement held by some Russian Critics [that art should stand high above the present and every day.]]. So in a hurry, I misread it as Dostoyevsky criticizing some Russian critics because he believes art has no distinction between reality and fantasy, and chose D. 🤦
