Take the job! "Well enough" is so subjective. As for me, no matter how much I study I always feel like I "could've done more". The weight off your mind of being able to pay your bills will make studying well a lot easier, I think. If you find later it's too much and you can afford to, quit.

Consider asking them for a deferment, too. Two weeks notice is standard, but asking for a month and half isn't out of the realm of possibility. Good luck!

@KelliYuriMatsumura I was also having this issue, and the way I ended up understanding it is that the authority is actually irrelevant. It's about legitimacy (middle of 2nd paragraph: the ruling elites of Europe felt the clear need to project their power backward in time, giving it a legitimacy only longevity could impart). If you believe in a religion, sure they have authority over you, but it stems from the belief, not the longevity of the culture. In D the secondary culture/colonizer is gaining legitimacy from the association with elements people already know.

It might help to think of how colonization really worked, esp. at the beginning and the end. Elites often saw European influence as a tool to control their populaces, not a tool to control them. E.g. French and Indian war, you had native american infighting bc there was no concept of "native american". It was oh look, these are my enemies since forever ago and my new friends who are gonna fight them with me. The dance in AC D might have been used to legitimize that new "friendship", meanwhile new paradigms around land ownership erode individual cultures' power.
