Question here! I'm re-reviewing these skill builders after going through all of the lessons in the "Arguments" section and had a question on q1.
Wanted to confirm the following:
1. This is a complex argument with 2 conclusions + context
2. Context is the statement "Computer operating system software... increasingly standardized"
3. Sub-Premise is the statement "But when a large business... data on all the computers"
4. Major Premise / Sub-conclusion is "If such a business introduced... virtually eliminated"
5. Major Premise 2 is "Furthermore, variations in operating system... compatibility to the business"
6. Major Conclusion is "Therefore, it is advisable for businesses to implement such variations"
Can someone help verify if I got this right?
#help / question! For Q4, can the sentence be considered an argument?
Premise: "A library in a digital-first community finds that it is unable to lend its printed books"
Conclusion: "so displays them only when requested for an exhibition."
Wondering if "so" can be seen as a conclusion indicator word. Also, if I ask myself, "why should I believe that libraries in a digital-first community displays printed books only when requested for an exhibition?", the answer can be "because they find that they're unable to lend it's printed books".
I know this is not the main objective of this exercise, but just want to continue practicing what I learned in the arguments section & applying it!
