This one threw me for a bit of a loop but it made more sense when I thought about it like this:

Argument: Crop diversity = strength. Now, no diversity, so one tiny disease could devastate food supply.

Answer: Actually, we do have diversity bc we have a seed bank. Also, if diseased, can replace quickly (so food supplynot devastated).

As other commenters have mentioned, the replacing quickly thing is kinda sus but its the best answer I guess

January LR Study Buddy

Looking for someone to meet with ~twice a week online to go over LR sections and discuss tough LR questions.

Ideally, we could do some of the same sections throughout the week and talk through the harder problems.

LR is currently my weakest section, I'm around -8 to -5. But I'm planning to focus mostly on this section and will be shooting for that -0 on game day.

Ooof I was totally lost on my first read through and decided to completely skip it--and thank god. This question is actually pretty easy if you identify the conclusion early on and then look for the STRONG CONDITIONAL language in the very last part of the last sentence. "must" and "only" are two HUGE clues that should stand out like sore thumbs when doing a NA question.

This question comes down to whether you correctly interpreted "these vitamins" in the second sentence as referring to vitamins A and D. If you just thought they were referring to the vitamins in vitamin-fortified foods, then you can't say B.

For those struggling w answer choice A, like I did for the past 20 min, it comes down to this:

The argument basically says: an increase in % rain vs % snow leads to snowpack melting faster and earlier.

Answer choice A is saying that there is simply more precipitation. It's not telling us about the % of rain vs. snow, which is the only thing mentioned in the stimulus.

Additionally, B has the causal word "led", which strengthens the relationship between two premises, whereas A is just a fact.

Okay, that's more or less what I was thinking. They are definitely going to write about the work I've done at the office so no problems there. Thanks for your response!

Rec Letter from Employee of Family Business

So I have a quick question about whether I should include a letter of recommendation written by an employee of my cousin's law firm. This employee is an attorney and I have worked with him for a few years as a paralegal. We get along well and they taught me a lot.

Obviously I won't have my cousin write the letter, but what do you think about including a letter of recommendation from the employee? I told the employee that they were free to write whatever they wanted and that I had waived my right to see the letter. The letter would be on company letterhead, which has my cousin's last name (also my last name). How would admissions officers look at this? Should I explicitly disclose that it is a family business on my resume and personal statement, or is it obvious since we share a name? I want to be transparent as possible but I'm not sure how to approach this.

I have two other letters written by professors. I was thinking of including this one as a third letter, since I have been out of school for 5+ years.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
