As the Feb deadline looms I am asking myself if I will be able to achieve my target score by Feb . I am in the high 60s now and aiming for low -mid 70s.. say a 5 point gain in a month ? Has it been done ? The only reason to register in Feb would be to get it done with. LSAT seems to have taken over my life . At the same time do not want to risk my score. The worry with June is that it is so far removed from Feb I risk losing momentum that I currently have. Thoughts ?

Did anyone notice a Sept 2016 date on the lsac website. I was just looking at registering and saw that the date after June was Sept 2016 not Oct .. wonder if it just a typo.
Thanks , I will try this.
It is unbelievable we have so few choices ... sorry no advice to offer :-(
I am very perplexed since I found out some in tech have taken a 3 year break to do law and have gone back to work in tech at (dare I say) not so great career jumps i.e. nothing they could not have achieved just working as opposed to pursuing law. these are T6 law grads . I do not know them so well as to ask them WHY ? but I am more than mildly curious at these choices . Any insight is appreciated.
Would it be possible to share with 7sagers until the licensing issues are sorted or does the license issue affects all ?
is this one recorded ? Would like to hear the recording since I missed it. Is there a common place to access all the recordings in case I want to hear any of the previous ones again ?
Great !!! Thanks.
@ :-) "argue less" haaa same here :-) however I am even more irate due to all the madness and my enhanced capability to recognize it.
thanks @ !! Nice to know it does not affect my ability to relate and succeed in the program. I worry about how I get that "been there done that" feeling anytime a younger colleague wants to do something... that is their idea of fun. My idea of fun now is going for long walks with my dog and my preteen child.. :-) If I can spare an hour that is what I would like to do.
Thanks @ !! I had once checked law schools for average ages of incoming class. I think Columbia had the youngest crowd among the T6 that is .
@ thanks for the details, however I was looking to hear from you about the social aspects now that you are already at school , do you feel different / do you think you need to make more of an effort to fit in ? Or any other insight you may have eg his much group work vs individual work is required ? Would it be tough for me to for example find project partners etc :-)
I am currently using 7sage methods for LG and have made considerable improvements. I still need to make gains time-wise. I was wondering if I could benefit from looking at some other perspectives w.r.t LG I am afraid that it might end up muddling things up since the 7sage method has worked great thus far for LG. Maybe I am getting impatient. Would love to hear from people that have made gains w.r.t time in LG
I am on the west coast and was planning on applying this year , but since I am not where I want to be score-wise I will be taking the June lsat ( yes another year lost :-() but I am working on multiple things and hopefully they will help the final application . Yes maybe we should have a thread for non-traditional applicants. I agree on the not/overemphasizing part. However I would love to hear from @ if he has a perspective to share since he is already at a law school . Is that something to consider w.rt bring s good fit at school .
@ do you mind sharing where are you deciding to go , east coast may not be my first choice (for similar reasons as yours) but I am open to moving out for the right school. Find it interesting that Columbia thought one was allowed to have a midlife crisis at 36 :-)
Oh ya !!!! My personal growth is phenomenal. Just reading those passages ; topics I was never exposed to ; things I never thought about. Of course reasoning etc ...
Has anyone successfully used highlighters during an actual test. I have begun using highlighters and they certainly increase my understanding of the passage but also takes more time to get through the passage. I am using 3 colors right now , maybe I should switch to 2.
I did identify the conclusion correctly but I have trouble with the paraphrasing of the answer. The conclusion says: it is a mistake to think that natural selection will eventually result in organisms that will be perfectly adapted to their environment. This means "In natural selection MAY NOT eventually result in perfectly adapted organisms" . Will never is not only too strong , to me it seems incorrect. This seems in line with the fact that the negation of all is some .. not..and not none . Hence really was unable to select any answer for this question and eventually selected A out of desperation.
I would like to erase my old scores and re-enter new ones on the tests I am re-taking . I cannot find a way to do that.
Are you getting a clean copy of the preptest to BR the entire preptest ? Or are you just doing the problems you thought you may have gotten wrong ?
Ha on not setting the date my dad was surprised that one could postpone it and even further surprised that you could cancel your score. He had both his hands on his head saying you are never going to get done . Is there s limit on how long you can try
Let me ask you : why would one do a 3 year JD instead of a 2 year MBA if one were interested in mgmt roles in their current field ? Also JD/MBA seems to be a good option but that would mean separate admission into both programs. Last I checked only a couple schools accepted LSAT scores for MBA admissions. So the options were either to get admission into one program and then take GMAT or take both GMAT and LSAT upfront and apply into both programs at a school simultaneously and that would mean one would need to be accepted at both independently.
I am looking to take the test again in Feb. Unfortunately the test center I took it in Dec is not offered as an option for Feb. Wanted to check if there are websites where reliable reviews can be found on the test centers. I have looked at yelp, tls, lsatcenters.wikia. Thanks
I am having trouble clear printout of pT 49 , it does not seem to print sections 2, 3 and 4 clearly. Section 4 is particularly bad. I know it is not my printer since I am able to print the other PTs (60s) just fine. I am going to try 50 now.
My opinion differs from the above 2 .. I am doing it just to psych myself up for the prep if nothing else. I do not see a downside.
I do not see this test on the addon list yet ? Does someone know when it would be available.
@ please do share more on how to achieve the jump in score.
Thanks !! I think I should BR the circled questions only. Should certainly make for better ROI at this point.
thanks @ , when you say write down explanation for each answer choice : do you mean something like : A is wrong because ..... B is wrong because .....?
I have found myself getting irritated and impatient when people make illogical arguments during general conversations. I am also painfully cognizant of the "illogical-ness" of their arguments. Social events are even more stressful ;-) Please add your observed "side-effects"
for LR /LG and RC. I think I am not doing the BR as thoroughly as it should be done (not taking the time to eliminate all wrong answers etc ) My goal is to reach as close to perfect score in BR. Looking for more ideas on how to get there. Currently my BR strategy is do the test again without time pressure. Which may be fine for LG I think but maybe there are more section specific BR strategies I could use.
matcha brand recommendations please ... I am trying out and want to get some expert advice on this :-) since I am a matcha newbie.
Hello All, I just withdrew Dec and am really hoping to make it for Feb. I realized that my level of expertize is not the same for each section. For LR and LG I am working on better timing and getting my BR closer to my timed score. On RC I am working on strategy and will later work on time. Given that I was thinking maybe to do timed sections of LG and LR for various tests and save the RC for later ? Meanwhile practice strategy on pre-36 RC passages. Or are there any other ways to address this ?
@ hmmm I am wondering how much worse than any big tech firm would big law be :-) Also if there is data specifically on people in tech doing law. I am looking to network with such a group if there is one. Cannot think of a better way to get an insight on this issue
I was hoping to use photo booth on my mac
