I am also making the same decision and I am very torn as well (from NYC and eventually want to be back here for work in big law). I am assuming that much of the CA big law placement out of Berkeley is a result of self selection, but it is definitely something I will be asking about at ASW. Are you guys attending?

This is a redundant post, but my family are starting to get annoyed of my "I'm so anxious whyyyy" statements so I should probably give them a break.

Why am I so anxious it makes no sense!!! Like I should be working on my personal statement but I simply can't concentrate with this uneasiness. I didn't experience anything like that even right before the test and now even meditation doesn't help and nothing seems to have meaning until that score is out... Help ?

I also felt this way, but then I realized there is literally nothing I can do but wait and that I am going to have to write my personal statement regardless. Try to enjoy the temporary time away from the LSAT(which hopefully will become permanent after Saturday) and keep chipping along at your personal statement- even if its 3 well written sentences a day!

I found the personal statement bootcamp webinar on here to be incredibly helpful. By weeding out the mundane details of my life and tying together my meaningful experiences I was able to describe my story- which by the nature of this method resulted in a narrative that is individual and unique. Start by brainstorming things in your life that have left an impression on you or changed your perspective!

For Columbia I added a final paragraph to my PS. In the non-Columbia version I give reasons why law school is right for me in the final paragraph. In the extra Columbia-paragraph I pivot to why Columbia specifically suits my interests and goals. It's no more than 10 lines long, but I give very specific reasons.

Thanks for this! My personal statement doesn't directly indicate why law or why Columbia, but I will do something like this. My only worry is that the why law and why Columbia addition will feel "copy and pasted." Do you have any tips for avoiding this?

I think you've answered your own question.

Yeah that’s why it threw me off when UPenn included Spain for that box ....

After being offered an abysmal and predatory major label record contract when I was 19, I realized how integral good lawyers are for the artistic community.

I want to represent artists and make sure they are being adequately compensated!

Yeah I am not sure what to check off. I speak fluent Spanish and grew up exposed to the culture as I am 50%, yet I always considered Spain culture to be European. ??‍♀️

My maternal grandparents are from Spain. I have always checked off the European caucasian box, however on the UPenn law application the hispanic box explicitly includes Spain. Do the "hispanic/latino" options for other law schools also include Spain or is this just unique to Upenn?

Thank you!

If you have finished the CC, I think the next step for you would be to take a timed exam every week or so and to blind review your exams in between. Once you have noticed patterns in where you have weaknesses, review the CC on those concepts in between taking your practice exams. For example, when I was studying, I did this and I noticed that conditional sequencing games were a weakness of mine. I reviewed the CC for those games as well as reviewed the Power Score LG bible sections relevant to that game type and I was able to get my missed questions on those games down to 0 before taking my exam. I also did this for parallel reasoning questions and well as weakening questions.

Duke optional essay #1 length?

I am planning on writing optional essay #1 for Duke as I feel my personal statement doesn't fully address why law school is the next step for me, but I was curious as to how long these essays typically are. Should it be 2 pages like a PS or less?

I had LR RC LR/LR LG format. My second LR section had a strengthening question about geneticly determined facial recognition in humans and chimps. Anyone know if this was the experimental? Can’t remember any other questions.

Hi all! Does anybody remember having the high fat diet and domestic iron mining questions?

My two cents: felt like this test was easier than July. LR seemed especially easier. LG didn’t have any weird setups but I agree with others that they were time consuming.

Happy to be done!

Yes I had both of those questions (experimental RC). and Yes! I totally agree with you- I didn't take July, but I felt that LG was very time consuming- I usually finish the section in under 20-25 minutes, and it took me the whole 35 minutes!

Anyone else find the kindness/respect/content question and the fairy ring question to be pretty hard?

Can you expand on the question type i feel like im blanking

Was this the one about the burrowing bugs and dry land patches or something? And they wanted you to strengthen the argument that it was burrowing that caused the dry land?

@samanthaashley92715 25?? Oh man I had 27 bubbled. But I was pretty sure I was off by, at most 1. Can anyone confirm?

I’m pretty positive RC had 27!

Actually now that you say 27 I think you’re right!

Can anyone confirm how many questions were in the real RC? I mayyyy have misbubbled.

There were 26 questions in one of the LR sections, so I think that means RC had 25

Magnesium, Chamomile Tea and diet. People really underestimate the power of eating whole foods on your sleep and mood (including anxiety). Try to eat a ton of nutrient dense vegetables, healthy fats, and high quality proteins. Think Paleo/Whole 30. It was a game changer for me.
