So even if its most strongly supported it can still give me a logic answer that I can solve like a math problem? Similar to MBT?

6 to 8 hours wasn't sustainable to begin with to be honest. You need time to also reflect on answer choices throughout the day. Don't give up this test takes a lot of time its normal to feel discouraged that's what weeds the people out that weren't serious to begin with.

I'm having a real hard time understanding why D is not right? when I negate D I push out two statements

It is not the case that warblers share their feeding area with other kinds of birds that often eat the same insects as them

which means

1. Warbler sometimes (1% to 50%) of the time share their feeding area with other birds that eat the same insects as them

2. Warblers never share their feeding area with birds that eat the same food as them

Number 1 leaves the possibility that other animals can eat in their zone..

Or is it the fact they would be sharing and not competing that makes the difference??? Am I making sense??

This question was really difficult to me and I fell for the bait which was answer choice B

I like to write the conclusion and premise in my own words. I just feel it helps.

Premise: Some people believe that opposing higher taxes is connected to being a good leader.

Conclusion: Thompson is the best candidate for the job

A- Correct. It concedes to the premise meaning it agrees that the premise is true but it renders in impotent because it says even though thats true it has nothing to do with being a good later. Ive spotted many of the hard weakening questions to do the same thing ie: Guinea pigs and mice common ancestor weaken question)

B- I picked this one the first time and I starred at the screen and scratched my head for a while to figure out why I was wrong. The way I figured this out is by replacing the word sufficient with the word enough. So instead of it reading " Being a opposed to higher taxes isn't a sufficient condition for good leadership" it reads Being opposed to higher taxes isn't enough to be considered a good leader.

Well the argument doesn't need it to be enough to be a good leader it just needs it to help in some way that's why B is wrong. As long as it helps in some way then the argument still stands.

C- out of scope. Remember the argument lies between the premise and conclusion anything outside of this is out of scope. This one is also trying to attack the argument directly which is a big no no. We want to weaken the support.

D- out of scope

E- out of scope

Like if this helps!

Premise: Guinea pigs and mice have a large genetic difference.

Conclusion: Guinea pigs stem from a different ancestor than mice.

B- Basically says that the genetic difference doesnt really matter and is arbitrary to deciding whether they have the same ancestors or not.

We basically conceded to the argument saying "ok but even though they have genetic dissimilarities that isnt an accurate predictor that they come from different ancestors. Maybe it doesnt even matter?

Am i missing something?

@ Hi Cassandra thanks for replying. Any strategies you'd like to share to help me overcome this?? Thanks

Hi guys, Does anyone else feel like they are improving but it is not translating to a better LSAT score??? Like I feel I'm getting to more questions more efficiently and I have a better grip on the test but yet I'm not improving. I'm feeling a bit discouraged still stuck in the 140's. Wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this or feels the same way.-Eric

Where I screwed up here was taking "Unreliable and "Inaccurate" to mean the same thing in which they are not.

Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone has thought of this strategy or is doing this. Lately Ive just been focusing on Logic games. Since I'm retaking the test in April, I figured I'm better off hitting one section hard instead of trying to improve on the test as a whole. As you may already figured out the LSAT doesn't give you an increase in points right away instead you have to reach a boiling point of improvement until it translates into actual score increases. What do you all think of this?

Weaken question

Premise: We find biological evidence in petroleum

Conclusion: Despite what critics think petroleum comes from fossilized remains from animals and plants

Thoughts: Find a premise that minimizes the presence of the biological evidence

A- So what even if not all didnt have the bio evidence this could still be a strong argument

B- Has nothing to do with it.

C So what? We got time.

D- Correct answer. What if its this bacteria that is being confused with ancient bio evidence and it didnt actually come from ancient living things.

E- This one feels like it would strengthen the argument because its saying look even the carbon deposits are made of living things.

Premise: During a study of a million people, we found that people who sleep more were found to have more illness than people who sleep less.

Conclusion: Therefore, Mild sleep deprivation is not unhealthy and possibly helps your immune system.

This study is assuming that everyone who took this study was healthy when they participated in the study. (This would strengthen the conclusion if this was a strengthen question btw)

Also, argument is concluding that it must be the amount of sleep that is causing the fluctuation in health.

My thoughts: Ok? but what if your just an unhealthy person with a health condition which is causing you to sleep more. or what if healthy people just have to sleep less.

This is striking me as a B caused A argument ( 2nd Correlation possibility). Like what if illness is causing the difference in sleep and not the other way around. However, it looks like J.Y concluded with the 3rd correlation possibility which is a confounder causing the correlation to happen? Which I don't get?

Can anyone help me out?

Should've known that an Ad hominem question in the 20's was fishy. Usually, Ad hominems are in the beginning of the section which are usually easier questions.
