I did at least 15 LR with review daily and one logic game different difficulties daily works wonder... you don't get rusty and should take you most 1:15 to 40 daily but keeps your hard earned techniques sharp !

Okay I'll be the first to tell you eating and sleep is important but only on the final week before... the main focus is to real push your brains limits on how well you process this information. Don't convince yourself just because you took the class your going to do well... you need to be really absorbing this stuff in outside of class to a point where if I told you what sort of question it is... you would know what sort of answers you could be looking for....

The question is in those 4-7 hours a day were you truly pushing yourself and constantly digging at why you were getting questions wrong? If not you need to sit down and wear a full pencil out doing problems...

If you are already doing this you need to reproach your study methods because almost everyone is able to get past 150 it's very doable I didn't score 150+ until I studied for at least a strong month or two then 160 after 3-4 months and so on ....

Ask yourself if you really are pushing yourself, and please my biggest piece of advice never feel sorry for yourself!!! Don't say poor me I'm going through so much stress ... instead tell yourself that your resilient and that you will keep pushing through adversity !!! Don't back down its difficult and takes time but you can 100% obtain a higher score !!!!

Please help RC is not improving

Guys honestly I'm doing pretty well in LR-3-5 and -2LG thanks J.Y....but I just can't get my RC Down to at least -7 or even -8 ... I've tried speed reading doesn't work I've tried notes doesn't work.... I realize it's like a super slow developing skill active reading that is but any concrete tips would really help I'm going to experiment this week before the test... please any thing solid would be appreciated!

Dont convince.... show .... that your enabling yourself as well as them to have a better chance for a better future. If their very statistical people as in they believe in studies and all. Show them by getting a better score you get into a better school+ scholarship, which enables you to provide extras for them as well as yourself !!

@ @ Yes Alex has it spot on improvements come from just hardcore practice your brain literally just gets better at noticing small details and at one point it becomes almost natural to spot things that you wouldn't be able to before.

My word of advice is to look at what qualities certain answers have under different types of questions. For example , Inference questions usually require something softer so you start scanning for something soft as hell. Think of it this way you should be looking for something you can squeak by with the info provided.... Most people always look for whats the most i can't prove...when in fact this is much more difficult than proving something that requires less assuming... IDK i guess people tend to like strong words but not in the case of inferences, off course it happens time to time but they tend to be soft.

Parallel reasoning: ignore content---look at how many conditionals are present and which ones are proving or disproving another.

Strengthen: pump that baby stimulus full of roads--- pretty much either see if you can cancel out alternatives of what provided, or try to amplify the effects of the premise so that it makes the conclusion more likely.

Weaken: do the opposite of strengthen- make it less possible for the conclusion to occur, find something that could be a alternative cause of Y instead of the X the argument assumes to have caused Y., or make it less likely that X leads to Y by cracking premises, don't say the complete opposite of the premise but rather that the premise provided leads somewhere else.

Flaws: pay attention to the silent assumption... sometimes its very silent but the answer choice will usually say something that points to this assumption and how the author automatically assumes it.(there lots of flaws i just can list them all)

I dont know if this mini explanation did anything ... LSAT EXPERTS I tried... just trying to help my anxiety lol by helping.

@ sure. I believe what he means is that if it says X is enough to know Y, and at the same time it relies on a assumption that is not to explicit like written out... then you should attempt to find an answer that possible says X or the assumption that X relies on doesn't actually lead to Y or falls short on Proving Y.

example: We now know Trump is president elect and therefore has received more electoral votes than any other competing candidate. So he will be the next president. Since he will be the most recent president, Trump must then be representing the majority of the beliefs held by modern day Americans.

Ok so here "most recent president" is sufficient, and "represent the majority of the beliefs" is the necessary. Now to weaken this we can show that the last president before him or even 50 years ago was elected but did not Necessarily represent the majorities beliefs...

Answers:

A. Harry Truman was elected as president, but a country wide survey showed over 52% of Americans did not believe that to Bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the correct course of action .

Even though Truman was the most recent president at the time he still was not aligned with the majority of beliefs held by Americans at the time.

I hope that makes sense !!!

Not sure if this is good LSAT experts let me know thank you !!!

In your case I'd say cancel but be weary of feburary test I've taken it and it was strange nonetheless less ... somewhat easy but leaves you wondering if it was too easy if you know what I mean ... but if you feel like you cracked the 170 you should be fine and should keep it

Need help with a decision ... pretty major

So took yesterdays Feb 6 LSAT......

(Few quick details so you better understand where I'm standing)

So I did not at all take myself seriously months prior to the LSAT, i have withdrawn twice form the LSAT due to knowing this fact.

(OCT & DEC) Prior to taking the LSAT I had minimal knowledge of formal logical( negating , contrapositives,etc...) Like very lightly I understood the concepts but never enough to actually employ them(Assumptions.n all that).. so about a week an a half prior to the LSAT I did my usual thing and procrastinated. My goal was a 158+ (Target school Loyola) which soon I realized after taking my first legit PT with a (149)......that I would downgrade to a goal of Southwestern( ya i know doomed)......However after a week and a half of almost pure 5-10(had class some days) hour a day practice tests and few reviews, i was hitting 154-ish and the material was actually making more and more sense ( even in that godawful amount of stress)....at one point I actually even got intrigued as to why like....I don't know it felt like a hunger to spot-recognize-repair-improve....

Sorry for all that bit long but heres my question I'm seeing my life with two options as of now....

1.If I score a 152+ with my (3.3UGPA) apply to Southwestern(YES I KNOW).....work my ass off first year top 15-20%(Yes i know its difficult, everything in life is) then transfer to (,USC..ect) or.....its a big OR

2.Spend this next year studying for the October LSAT apply to top tier schools(T14- 20) with likely a scholarship....(And yes I believe I can hit 170+) not cause I'm a genius...(i wish) but because I'm decently inteligent with a new acquired taste in LSAT...

Ill give you an idea of what I'm feeling, literally after sitting through my first LSAT.....I came home my mind was blurry and literally the only comfort I found was by doing LR questions to calm my nerves....

PS:JY STRAIGHT UP TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING ABOUT LG GAMES...Smart Gentleman( Will be buying the ultimate test guide if option 2 is chosen....I hope that doesn't suffice as evidence in some kind of bias fashion to anything you may post :)

@ i dont if i should retake I've seen my score from the first time i will have to look at this one for reference or for applying if i get a bit lucky ... cause my first one was February and you don't get a disclosed test to review... But i just might have to talk to someone and ya that method i know pretty well lol i used to use that to fix my sleeping schedules when i was up till 4 am back in the day.... but ya idk I'm in such a shitty spot i have no idea what the result is like ... but i don't even know if i want to retake in feburary either...

@ really? so the curve is configured based on previous data???? That is ridiculous ...very illogical why wouldn't they apply the curve from current results ... its not as representative to have old results from "OLDER" tests ... so lucrative these peeps are up to something

Here some food for thought... most competitive students aim for sep or oct ...December has a more misses allowed because I believe a larger proportion of students who are not as competitive i.e. prepared take it ... honestly September is the last draw for most early admission applicants keep that in mind.
