@

Especially, I definitely agree on the LG point. I got too complacent about it on the October test.

Thank you so so much for your advice!

@

Thank you for your response Joseph! Sorry, but one more question!

Even though you didn't contribute as much for the October test (in terms of time-wise), you weren't worried about a possibility that you may not retain some important skills you learned but were confident of what you got?

@

So for your October test, what did you primarily work on besides two PTs a week? What would you say as your average study time per week?

@ Got it! Thank you so so much for your explanation :D

From the stimulus, I got two conditional statements:

1) knowingly brings about misfortune --> should be blamed

2) not knowingly brings about misfortune --> should not be blamed

But because of the "for example" part, am I supposed to add "could not have reasonably have foreseen it" to the sufficient part of the 2nd cond'l statement I wrote above?

Also, Can anyone please explain why (A) is wrong?

Can I interpret "it did not occur to Riley" in (A) as "not knowingly brings about misfortune?"

For me, POE was the most effective method to approach this question. I usually am able to find gaps in arguments before attacking problems, but this one was an exception.

How did you guys solve this question to get it right?

@

I feel the same way about redoing reading passages. Even though I don't remember what questions are about, rereading the passage definitely feels easier. How did you overcome this problem while studying for a retake?

@ @

Thank you so much for sharing your methods guys!

I have been somehow afraid of spending less than 3 minutes to read a whole passage, never really trusted myself, and never thought that I would be able to spend around 2 minutes reading the passage and being able to grasp its reasoning structure. So, it never crossed my mind that I would want to try spending less than 3 minutes to read the passage only. But, after I attempted several passages using the former method today, it surprisingly works well! Again, thanks for sharing your RC methods :D!

@ Thank you for your response! Ahhh does that mean that you spend around 2 minutes to read and understand (almost) everything what the passage says?

@ Thank you for your response! Definitely agree with you that everyone goes for a different approach, but still curious what works best for others :D

I have been using the latter one, but also thinking of trying the former one and see if that one works for me as well

I am curious how you guys approach RC passages.

For RC, some of my friends told me that they spend about 2 ~ 2.5 minutes skimming a passage and having a grasp on points made in each paragraph. Then, when approaching questions, they go back to a passage for questions whenever needed.

And for others, they said they spend around 3.5 ~ 4 minutes understanding a passage solidly (just like how we try to spend enough time on drawing a solid game board for LG). Then, when working on questions, they barely go look back the passage.

There are definitely pros and cons for both approaches, but I am still curious what you guys think about them and what kind of an approach you guys use for RC. Thank you!

If I translate (E) into lawgic, is it "apology sincerely offered" or "apology accepted" --> "acknowledge?"

If we are to fail the 2nd conditional rule in its contrapositive form, how should it be worded?

I totally agree with what JY says about reasons for eliminating (A). But because it says "in general" in the stimulus, isn't "many customers" in (A) still consistent with the stimulus above?

I definitely think that (B) is the most suitable choice for this inference question, but I am still struggling to find out a crystal-clear reason for eliminating (A).

Old LR Qs vs. More recent LR Qs

As I am spending most of my time working on recent PTs for the December test, I have been solving some of old LR questions as well (I would consider PT 1-30 old).

After working on both, I think a conspicuous difference between old and newer ones is that old LR questions are not as tightly worded as new ones. I feel like old ones are cruder while newer ones are more refined in terms of their writing styles.

Assuming there are differences, I don't think they are about different flaws or different assumptions but more about different writing styles. I don't know if this is just me but I definitely spend more time reading/understanding old LR questions' stimuli than those of newer ones.

Do you guys think that there are any differences between old LR questions and newer ones? I would love to hear your opinions about this :D Thank you!

When I read the sentence "in particular, there were more cookbooks sold," I had to think hard if it meant 'there were more cookbooks sold than other books that year' or 'if more cookbooks were sold that year than in any previous years.'

But, based on J.Y.'s explanation as well as on the correct answer, it seems to me that the latter interpretation is right. Can anyone please explain how I would know it's the latter one?

Thank you

Working-on-same-PTs problems

Hi all,

Is there anyone who prepared/is preparing for a retake and has encountered a problem where you use same PTs and feel familiarized with some problems? Or feeling subconsciously comfortable with the fact that they are problems that you have done already?

With this trouble for myself, I realized that I felt definitely baffled when taking a new, fresh PT after retaking those PTs I have done already.

Is there any advice you could please give? Thank you so much guys!

"sentient being on another planet" + " cannot communicate" --> "the only way is a spacecraft"

I tried the Trainer, Powerscore and 7Sage for diagrams, and I found Powerscore particularly helpful to understand diagrams. But people's preferences vary, so I wouldn't say Powerscore provides the best instruction for drawing diagrams. So, you should try all methods available and see which one would fit you the best.

To draw diagrams quickly, you need to practice many times. I really promise you it will get better! The more you practice diagramming, the more likely you will be seeing patterns and you may not even need to diagram on paper during the timed exam.

The real LSAT's paper quality

I am sorry about asking such a silly question, but for those of you who already took the real LSAT before, could you guys please tell me if the paper LSAT used was similar to the one that we normally use for printing at home/work or the one that is like recycled paper and somewhat gray-ish color?

Confirm action

Are you sure?
