Confusing rule.

For this game I misunderstood the rule. Can someone explain what consecutive would translate to in logic games? I assumed consecutive could mean two L's are placed on the same day as well. Also having trouble in general with games that have more slots than characters. Any advice?

It says "The two days on which......are consecutive" so it clearly rules out the possibility that L L are on the same day.

Make sure to push it back against the first part of the setup paragraph "four two-day workshops." So it's saying that every piece is doubled. Push that together and you get rule #2 to get the double-layer setup, and the consecutive pieces are placed horizontally as the second iteration of a piece has to be on a separate day ("four two-day workshops") - not the second part of a day.
