What specifically are you having a hard time with? If you've never went through the core curriculum before, my advice would be to keep going. You can do hard things.
Something that I did while I was going through the core curriculum was that I did not complete all problem sets. I did every other problem set (ex. sets 1, 3, 5, etc.) and saved some to come back to as I was revisiting problem areas that I notice while I am drilling prep tests.
