What does 'lack' mean in LSAT?

Does it mean 'shortage' or 'none'?
I'm curious as I encountered anther similar questions about quantifier!
I know it might be a silly question, but want to ask if there's any issue with this word on lsat.

Thanks a lot in advance:)

Not a silly question. The LSAT is a test of language and requires you to think about the meaning of words. Lack means not enough, so you could have some or none. There's a specific quantity you need but you don't have it.

When in doubt, I check the Westster online dictionary for the precise definition.
    lack
    1. to be deficient or missing
    2. to be short or have need of something
