when to diagram in inference Q?

I'm confused to when to diagram. some inference Q are obvious with logical indicators. Some are hidden or have causation in the argument and qualifiers (maybe, could etc). When do you diagram? what's the general rule?

From my understanding, words like "maybe", "should", "could" aren't conditional indicator words so they aren't diagrammed. Words like "are," "is," "must" and "only" can be diagrammed.

You don't ever need to diagram. It can just be a helpful tool to simplify certain stimuli. There are no general rules. You just have to decide to diagram or not and then put pencil to paper and get going. Diagramming is not what ends up being a waste of time, spinning your wheels over the decision is what is a huge waste of time.
