Yeah, that's about what I've been doing. I'll take something to shut my head up around 7:30 if I feel like I'm going to keep myself up thinking. In bed at 8, normally asleep by 9, up at 5. That gives about four hours between waking up and test starting which I think is just about right.
I would encourage you to be more firm on the 9 versus 10. Aim for 9 and you will get to bed much earlier than aiming for 9 or 10. The ambiguity leaves too much wiggle room and you will end up in bed much later on average. Or at least that is how it works with my personality.
Learned that the hard way yesterday haha. I had some nebulous idea that I would be in bed during that time frame and ended up sleeping at 11 and waking up at 540 am all tired. Got to be in bed at 9
