It's hard to say without looking at how clear your answersheet indicates an erasure, but yes. I would say there is no harm in requesting a hand score in that case.

Oh and one more question!!! Some of you have mentioned marking a small dot beside any question that you skip, on the scantron answersheet. Is this allowed? I read stories about people getting misconduct notices for writing outside the box.
Another vote for changing test centers! I can't imagine having to fumble with my pencils, eraser, sharpener, booklet, and answersheet. The less you have to worry about, the more you can focus on the test.
