Your statement should detail how your lived experiences have motivated or prepared you to attend law school and how your goals and values align with our mission. We encourage you to discuss challenges overcome, leadership roles undertaken, special skills you possess or any other personal or professional information you wish to highlight.

In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

2. Have you ever been cited for, arrested for, charged with, or convicted of any violation of any law other than a case that was resolved in juvenile court?

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO SEATTLE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW

Thank you for your interest in Seattle University School of Law. In addition to completing the Application for Admission, you must register with the LSAC Credential Assembly Service (CAS) and submit the following materials:

An APPLICATION FEE of $70 if applying after February 1st (pay online via the LSAC website). A PERSONAL STATEMENT typed in no smaller than 11-point font, double-spaced. The personal statement is your opportunity to share your unique voice and perspectives. Your statement should detail how your lived experiences have motivated or prepared you to attend law school and how your values and goals align with the School of Law's mission. We encourage you to discuss challenges overcome, leadership roles undertaken, special skills you possess or any other personal or professional information you wish to highlight. See the Attachments section for the complete personal statement prompt. Your statement should not exceed two pages and must be submitted as an attachment with your application. A RÉSUMÉ detailing your employment history, community service or volunteer experience, and academic history. We recommend you list your academic history first. Please submit it as an attachment with your application. Two LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION submitted on your behalf. Letters from professors or professional colleagues who can speak to your intellectual curiosity, analytical skills, work ethic, and other attributes are typically the most helpful for the Admission Committee. Recommendation letters must be sent via the LSAC Letter of Recommendation Service by your recommenders. A valid LAW SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST (LSAT) SCORE or valid GRADUATE RECORDS EXAMINATION (GRE) GENERAL TEST SCORES or a valid JD-NEXT SCORE. The Admission Committee will not consider scores older than five years for any examination. TRANSCRIPTS of all undergraduate school work. Graduate school transcripts (if applicable) are not required, but we strongly recommend they be submitted. OPTIONAL ONE-PAGE ADDENDUM typed in no smaller than 11-point font, double-spaced. An addendum may address, for example, a large discrepancy between test scores or anything else you wish to share that is not included elsewhere in your application. Please submit as an attachment with your application. While the priority application deadline is March 1, we encourage you to submit your application materials at the earliest possible date after September 1. Applications will be considered after March 1 on a space-available basis. Our final application deadline is July 1st.
