The mission of Seattle University School of Law is to seek and support a diverse and distinguished group of students and immerse them in the legal knowledge and skills needed to solve real-world problems. We develop leaders who make a difference for their clients and communities.
The personal statement is your opportunity to share your unique voice and perspectives. Your statement should detail how your lived experiences have motivated or prepared you to attend law school and how your goals and values align with our mission. We encourage you to discuss challenges overcome, leadership roles undertaken, special skills you possess or any other personal or professional information you wish to highlight.
Please attach a personal statement of no more than two pages, typed, double-spaced using a font size no smaller than 11-point. Clearly label the attachment "Personal Statement."

In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.
