If you dig around at Law School Numbers, there are plenty of examples of people with low LSAT scores getting into Yale and NYU after retaking and getting a higher score.
NYU claims they do, but from past cycles lots of people are pretty sure it's BS.
Yale seems to care about multiple scores. other than that, no one really averages
