My scores on older prep tests are consistently higher (by about 5 points) than newer ones. I feel as I am taking these newer tests that the questions are visibly more difficult. Am I crazy or is there any credence to this observation. I am taking the February LSAT; should I abandon the older tests and study only the new ones in preparation? I appreciate any insight. Thanks.

Prep tests are just LSAT tests from the past. 7Sage does note that there a few points where there's been changes made in the LSAT (I think mainly in some LR stylistic decisions beyond obviously removing logic games) so maybe you're being impacted by them a bit. That being said, I only used a few books to build my fundamentals and do drills and then used the old printed PT books which all still had logic games in them (so I just did the 2 LR and 1 RC).

I don't feel like I was thrown any curve balls when I took the LSAT in November and I hit solidly in the range of what my PTs predicted even though they were all older PTs.

I remember researching this a little bit a while ago, I found a site that compared the scoring for all available prep tests. I think you're right that newer ones are harder, since apparently newer tests are stingier with 170+s than the older ones are.

I'd definitely recommend going through newer stuff before your Feb test if possible, since they will be more representative of current tests regardless of scoring.
