APRIL LSAT

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to post a quick post of encouragement for those feeling down after finding out their results of the April LSAT. I've been reading other posts and have found it nice to know that I'm not alone, so I thought I would share my thoughts with everyone.

I scored a 151. This was my first time taking it, and I think some of my anxiety got the best of me. That said, I am trying to think of the positives. When I first started studying for the LSAT 8 months ago, all I wanted was a 150. I just wanted to be average. I am not a good standardized test taker. I think on the ACT I might have scored a 19... but I am a student with a 4.0 in both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I am not a traditional student, and have been working full-time at a courthouse for the last 1.5 years. I studied Criminal Justice and Psychology in my undergrad, and my masters degree is in Criminal Justice.

I have not decided if I'm going to retake, as I am not applying until the next admission cycle (Fall of 2027). Additionally, I am not aiming for a top school. I guess, I just wanted to share this, because this is where I'm at. Feel free to share below.... if you're feeling similar or what your thoughts are. I think it's just nice to "talk" to people who are experiencing the same thing. Regardless, everyone should be proud of themselves because this a difficult test, and we did it and tried our best.

I am currently at 7 months of studying with exactly this score, coming from a diagnostic of 136. I also work full-time while studying for this exam. I take the test in June and am a bit worried. Your words have truly meant the most to me, thank you for sharing.

@Ave_happ22 my diagnostic was 140. Growth is growth even if it’s not a large numerical difference. You got this! Good luck on the June lsat and all your future endeavors!

Thank you for the post! As I was reading it, I found so many similarities. This April was also my first LSAT and I was very depressed about my score (150). It's been 6 months studying for this test and although I have always been a straight A student for my Bachelors and Masters (as you did), standardized testing was always my weakness. But I realized that if I am not going to give up, I should overcome these emotions and start studying again! I hope everything works out for both of us!

@j_w180 thank you for responding. I’ll be honest I may or may not retest. I’m looking at my options for schools based on my score, which I know limits my options. That said, I am keeping the option open just in case. I wish you the best of luck though retaking it! You got this!

150s is great, if you decide to take it again, I would suggest buying the “cancel score” so if it’s not any better, it won’t be viewable. At the very least, you will be able to say you tried!

@Jake. What a great idea. Thank you for that suggestion! :)

@Jake. Hi! Just a quick question, how does the "cancel score" work? Will the law schools know if I cancelled the score?

@j_w180 yes, it’ll say you chose to cancel your score, but it won’t say what the score you canceled was

I think websites like Reddit make us all forget that 150s are the average LSAT score! Good job, everyone (and stay off reddit lol!)
