Hi there, congrats!! Which school did you get into? I’m currently a paralegal in Ontario with a masters from UofT. I am aiming at uCalgary.
@Rena12345 agree. BR is great, but people shouldn’t use it for any type of score prediction. One of the Kaplan books said that if everyone got unlimited time on the LSAT, hitting 170-180 would be a breeze. If you miss a question in timed practice, you’ll miss it during the actual LSAT where there’s no BR.
As much as it is hard to replicate quiet testing environment in some circumstances (I try to drill during my work commutes), that is the best way to see how you’d potentially score on the real thing.
Hi there! I am also in quite a tight financial situation - I'll be taking out a massive loan for law school (if I hopefully do get in).
I work full time, and studying from free resources (like library books, ex. Kaplan) improved my score a tiny bit, but not close to what I was looking for. I ultimately opted for the cheapest 7Sage plan, and it really helped me to both boost my score and take study nibs whenever I can (ex. drilling on my phone during my work commute).
I believe that in the end what really made me subscribe is yes, the good reviews, but also this thought: what is more important now - saving that hundred bucks monthly or getting into law school? Now at least I know that if I don't pass the LSAT/won't get in, I will have the satisfaction that I tried my best, including paying for proper study materials. I'd hate the thought that I might have missed my chance if I wouldn't be pinching every penny.
Scoring higher at the LSAT also means more opportunities for scholarships down the road. Nevertheless, I am planning to keep my subscription for only 4 months or so.
This is just my view on this point, I hope you find something that works out for you :)
@ITTutoring Thank you for the insightful feedback. A lot of the content here pertains to American schools - would you be able to tell whether the approach you outlined applies in Canada as well?
How do you deal with these questions in time crunch? I get conditional logic mapping but I panic when I have little time to do it 🥺
I started doing them weekly too. I usually get them done early in the morning on the weekend, while my brain is sharp and since it’s my most important part of the day.
I do the stretch and breathing too, otherwise the tension just piles up 😩 I like to drink green tea on the side during the break, but it makes me wanna run bathroom real fast so probably that’s not a solution for the actual test 😅
These explanations are so much more easier than what they do in Kaplan books 😭🙏
I have similar questions. I understand the concept of it but I don't know how to use it going forward - revisit the mistakes? try to memorize patterns? 🥲
I used some Kaplan books for the LR and didn’t find it as useful as 7Sage. if you do prefer print resources, I suggest the LSAT PowerBibles instead - they seemed easier to comprehend for me.
Overall, I do find the 7Sage easier than the books though, just because the video explanations click better.
It does take time to master these skills and find optimal learning strategies, if you have the time to spare. As another person mentioned below too, I also work full time so it’s easier to access the 7Sage content on the mobile app.
@cwferrari As someone with a degree in Asian Studies I still agree this passage was a pain
I work full-time as a paralegal and do study as much as I can. Is it possible? yes, I guess. Is it taking a toll on me? Absolutely 😭 With that being said, as someone who always worked throughout my university studies, I think work experience is always valuable.
