I work full-time and can be quite tired at the end of a long day, and my work especially is the type that can be draining. From prior experience, I kind of feel that studying for as long as I should each day can end up getting to a point where I am too tired to focus on my studying; sometimes it is fine but others I just kind of go through the motions. Do any other people who have tried studying while working have any tips or strategies that worked for them?

I work a full-time desk job where I commute into a major city about 45 minutes away on the bus. I do some light prep during the commute both before and after, usually just doing some specific drills, then during my lunch break I do a timed section. weekends I do practice tests or light studying, but my house is hard to focus at, so I have to get creative!

I am in the same boat, and as these other commenters have said, taking advantage of morning time before work and using weekends to PT is really helpful. Honestly if you get a lunch during the day, maybe even take advantage of that time if you have no other time in the day.

Study an hour a day in the early morning or after waking up. Best practice.

I've found that studying after work is pretty pointless for me, I'm too drained and distracted by the end of the day. I commit to two hours every day before work and on the weekends (with normally one day off a week). This requires going to bed very early!

I only take practice test on the weekends when I can spend a little time waking up, eat a good breakfast, take a walk, etc. to simulate test day prep.

@calliekoskovich Yeah I second this opinion about PTs. I usually try to take a PT on Saturday and then review it on Sunday. If I am feeling energetic I will try to combine this into just Saturday. Mostly though, I spend some time at work doing practice questions (the priority tab on the drill section is very helpful for this, to just take 5 questions at a time, to truly target the questions that are troubling you the most)

I personally go to a library or cafes that are only a few mins from my job. Then I can go directly after work and NOT go home. I will then study for maybe 2 hours and head home. Personally if I go home right after work I won't do anything/nearly as much as I should. I try to switch up the environment (within reason) as much as possible to keep myself stimulated. Personally peer pressure also works for me so finding places where other people are working/studying also helps if you have that available to you.
